I love this game, and how it features the goal of satisfying the crowd while still allowing freedom in jamming. You can play whatever you want and this is great! Of course it's quite hard to get into as the controls involve the whole chromatic or whatever it's called, but it's okay - no one can hear the basist anyways LOL

End life plan
I am posting the full Godot project in addition to the game itself as a zip file
Transparency note
I have only used AI as a search engine on Google.
All character art has been done by my wonderful friend Roberta. All else was handcoded by me with heaps of copy pasting. Especially BrainFooLong's midi parser at @url https://github.com/brainfoolong/gdscript-midi-parser which was a massive help.

The philosophy of this game is lovely. The title screen says it outright: play whatever you want, what matters is keeping time, and if you want extra points try to stay in key, every song is in C major / A minor so just avoid the sharps. Just vibe man. A rhythm game that gives you freedom instead of punishing you is a beautiful design choice, and it's the opposite of what the genre usually does.
The drawn keyboard map on the title screen, with each key labelled with its note, is the best possible way to explain that. I understood the instrument in about five seconds.
The band scene is great: red theatre curtain, Bassa in a red dress with the bass, a trumpeter in a blue suit and sunglasses, a guy in a hat on bongos, and an actual audience of five people drawn in front of the stage. It gives the gig real life. The HUD is clean too, Score, Combo, and a constant reminder of the key so you don't wander off the scale. Three tracks with names that suggest progression is a good structure.
Caveat on my score: the problem here is on my end. A rhythm game depends on hitting keys at the exact moment and my inputs come out delayed, so I finished on 0. That says nothing about your game, and you'll do infinitely better than I did.
What I can fairly comment on: the blue note bars scrolling across are thin and close in colour to the purple background, so reading the rhythm visually is hard. Much higher contrast (yellow, white) would help a lot. And there's no countdown before the song starts, so you're already behind on the first beat.
Also, posting the full Godot project as a zip alongside the game is exactly the right answer for this jam.
The sounds are lwk the best one i’ve heard in the whole jam, im really bad at this kinds of games, but it is really cool! The graphics also were good. The only real problem is the controls, which are too many and too complex honestly, i think it would be easier if for each song you play you have only x note you will have to play, so you don’t have to memorize every control at the same time. Anyway GG :)
The concept of the game is really cool, but I think the controls seem a bit too complicated. All in all, well done! :>
The concept is cool but the game needs polishing and a better design. but overall very refreshing nice!
Pretty interesting concept!! The music and character design is wonderful!
My only feedback is, it would've better to simply place the keys against those bars so players wont have to refer to the keymapping at the bottom. Sorry if I missed something there.
Eu absolutamente não tenho skills para esse jogo haha, mas quem é acostumado com esse tipo de jogo deve ter se divertido, bom trabalho!
Love the vibes! Cool that its a fully functional key board instrument!
Well, interesting game. I used to play a lot of rhythm games, I find this one really hard, hahaha.
Nice art!
Oh god I am so happy you went with a bass game after Lemons last year, the bass in that was sick. Now I can BE the bass? It's all I could ask for. The graphics are absolutely amazing, that's definitely the standout thing here. Good job Roberta!
The different people all liking different things is such an interesting feature, before reading that the peasants like the octave jumping bass of disco (someone should turn them on to Roger Waters) I was gonna say that a simpler pentatonic scale with 5 buttons would be enough).
I would prefer a more easily readable interface, but rhythm games are HARD to make, especially in such a short time.
Cute idea, was a bit much to try and jump into all at once but i like the premise.
