Omg this game is so good i spent like 30 minutes playing! The artstyle is also so neat and beautiful :3

Fun little mining game, nice upgrade system and cute art style, the fact that the map is persistent throughout the days makes you think about how you are going to dig, so that you always have a way to get back up and deposit your gold.

A game about digging a hole but a sidescroller! I enjoyed having to work my way back up on a countdown, thematic and creates interesting gameplay consequences!

nothing better than digging holes. simple and really well executed though. played this for quite a while though and had a lot of fun with making it through each day for the upgrades and seeing what I could get to on the next day and so on. only notes I have here are building in a settings menu for the volume control because my dog thought there was a squeak toy in the computer monitor whenever I started jumping around lol. great work and a lot of fun!

this game was so fire it reminded me of digging to the center of the earth during the kola super deep borehole expedition but instead of trying to dig to the center of the earth is was digging into the center of my heart. mr.resetti's cousin played with my emotions as i desperately pawned off everything i ever owned in order to get him out of debt as i watched him dig into the depths of earth to retrieve the precious metals not knowing if he would make it back out. this game is genuinely so amazing that if you decide to continue this game further i would not be surprised if it were another classic for the ages. this game was so fire i couldnt stop thinking about it during wonton night and i love wonton night.     mr.resetti'scousinishot/10

Great use of theme, I found the feel of the digging and dynamite particularly satisfying. Would recommend coming up with a way for the player to be able to reliably get back to the top (steps made of stone, etc). Thanks for watching the stream, here's the playtest @02:08:53, sorry that the volume levels were a bit loud

Fun take on the theme, and the controls and mechanics feel good! Really enjoy the Rayman-esque playable credits as well.

Congrats on completing the jam!

Really well done for a 4 day jam. I LOVE the art style its so cute.

I'm not sure if you are aware, but there is another game with exactly the same gameplay loop called Coal LLC. This isn't a dig (no pun intended) at your game, just thought you may be interested to know in case you want to continue this game further so you have a point of reference.

And don't let this dissuade you, I say this because I've been developing a similar game over the last 6 months as well so I've been looking for other games like it.

I will say that I personally find the timer + quota combo a bit too stressful for my liking, but there are a lot of people who enjoy Coal LLC so I don't think I'm really your target audience.

Good luck!

Awesome game! That core gameplay loop of grinding, digging, and hoping to strike it rich with precious minerals is incredibly engaging. The art style is really cool, and the sound effects are good! Just out of curiosity: is the porcupine sound effect from Hollow Knight? It really reminded me of it! Also, I absolutely loved the playable credits, it instantly gave me Rayman Legends vibes. Here is a video of Rayman's credits:

It’s a small layer of polish, but it makes a huge difference in the overall experience. If I had some constructive feedback, it would be that spicing up the narrative and adding more variety to the environments, minerals, and enemies could easily take this game to the next level. Great job on this!

By the way, if you have some free time, I'd love for you to playtest my game as well and let me know what you think!

Wow you're the first person to mention Rayman legends! I took a lot of inspiration from that games credits, I used to love that when I was younger haha. I voiceacted the porcupine myself actually, but I'm happy to be compared to Hollow knight! If me and the games artist expand on the game well definitely flesh out the story more and adding more variety. Thanks for playing and for the feedback! PS. I played your game and it gave me heavy Rayman vibes as well lol, very cool!

This was really cool! I'm very impressed by how well the excavation works. I like how you have to plan ahead and make sure you can actually get back up out of the mine. It's also really clever that you can't pay off the debt with the money that you used to buy items so you have to purchase prudently. I managed to beat it with 1 day to spare.

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

good game! mixes the stressful timer with a fairly chilled atmosphere, it feels really simple and yet rewarding to hit those chests/larger pieces

Fun game! I kept seeing  the creator on lives so I decided to play. Good job!

Very satisfying digging game, a little simple but gets you thinking about how to efficiently dig your tunnels to move around and how to best efficiently hoard the gold around. Very addictive *numbers go up* kind of game. I don't really have any complaints outside of the camera being a little finicky when you get back on the surface from the edges of the map. Game was so good I struggled to put it down so that's about as high a praise I can give it.

Very nice game! I love how clear your impact on the world is as you dig. I found strategising and digging systematically to plan a path for the return very fun, and it provided some extra depth. Good entry!

A cute and fun game! Great sound and audio effects, with decent mechanics that bring it all together. The main issue I ran into was that it was a bit challenging to move around and try to climb out of the holes again in time.

Loosing the entire pouch of coins if you didn't make it out in time felt a bit harsh and led to me simply not adventuring too far out, or sitting at the top for the last 20 seconds instead of trying to grab a few more nuggets. I know they weren't destroyed, but finding the pouch in the next level was a bit of a challenge too since it just falls down. (not that I disagree with loosing the pouch, but perhaps an indicator or something else to help soften the blow)

Perhaps some kind of purchasable ladder or rope to climb could serve a good way to aid extra movement?

Overall a great game though - I had a fun time playing!
