Great game. Super fun to have to multitask with all these timers. Probably should have eased the player into the game a bit, starting with all timers going is a bit overwhelming. Tutorial was fantastic though so I understand the game on that first run. Also very fun theme (and kinda morbid lol). All the text on the side is really cool as your playing.
Thanks a lot!
Yeah I planned on making a "story mode" with levels where you'd get increasing amount of tasks but there was no time left and I was afraid I'd break the game with last day content. Thanks on the tutorial feedback!
The amount of times I fat fingered something is painful
Great game, I can see this becoming something big especially as a typing game, where you’re the Grim Reaper cubicle worker, doing the administration of killing people.
Well done!
Thanks for playing!
The core idea is very creative and creates a surprisingly challenging task. Constantly scanning the screen, noticing whose life cycle has ended, and quickly typing the first letter of their name keeps you focused and engaged.
Personally, though, the presentation made the gameplay less enjoyable for me. Watching simple circles for an extended period felt quite abstract and visually repetitive. I think the same core mechanic could become much more engaging with a stronger visual setting—for example, small characters moving around a top-down town, with visible events happening to them before you have to collect them.
The current visuals work well enough as a game jam prototype and successfully demonstrate the idea, but for me they are the weakest part of the project. The concept itself is strong, while the gameplay and presentation could be developed further to make the experience more satisfying.
In any case, well done for completing and publishing the project!
Thanks a lot for the feedback!
I plan on extending the game and maybe making it closer to what I envisioned while on the ideation part, but I'll have to look for an artist! I wanted to make every single countdown "slightly customized" to the person and have a person walking around at its left, so you'd see "who you're killing".
I had some other possible situations happening, like stuff you had to fix, but 96 hours was tough.
Also, I guess you got farther in the score than I ever did during testing lol
Look, if I did this as a 9 to 5, I would.
For its simplicity in graphics, in terms of gameplay it definitely makes up for it and I had fun~
I think here’s my two cents on it though:
Nonetheless, it’s still very fun to play and definitely loving the death messages!
Thanks for the feedback! I am planning on expanding the game and those are for sure things I'll work on!
Nice setting idea! And the death messages are funny. We went for something similar gameplay-wise and it was interesting to see a different approach.
Thanks! I'll take a look at your game soon!
Nice work, I like the idea of the grim reaper working a desk job 😂 I think I would have liked a little more as far as visuals are concerned, like maybe a video feed of the poor person working this very grim job, but it works enough how it is. I definitely enjoyed how it got me to be a bit reckless with the supervisor check ins.
Thank you! Yeah I was planning on adding a sprite of the worker in a desk, and a door nearby to serve as a countdown for supervisor checks, alas, 96 hours is hard hahaha. So it just became a door noise and check countdown. Maybe in the future I can continue it to fully flesh the idea. Thanks once again for playing!
This game was very easy to get into and was a fun little experience. I really enjoyed the death messages. They were really creative and a nice touch. The messages are probably what kept me playing because I wanted to see them all. While the visuals where rather plain, I don't think it hurt my experience. Very interesting take on the theme and good execution! :D
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the death log!
I love the concept and controls, simple but a lot to focus on. Really used well. I think the visuals were good, no need to be complex but would have liked to see more grim reaper stuff rather than just a the computer. The audio is repetitive but not annoying, just a bit dull. I Think the gameplay needs a bit more depth but with a little more time I could see this being good fun. Nice job :)
Thanks! I focused mostly on what I could do, so visuals and audio were not much of a concern. But maybe I'll try to gather a team in the future to give this one more love!
My brain is working overtime for this one. Great way to test out keyboard knowledge and the extra flair of the side bar was really neat to see. Great job!
Thank you, the death log at the right was something I wanted to do to make it silly, some ludicrous ways to die to lighten up the mood.
What a fun idea for a game! The visuals felt really appropriate for the job, and I liked the writing of the tutorial.
Thanks! Especially for mentioning the tutorial haha took me a while to make it.
