End life plan
Score Chaser: Archive Run is preservation-ready by design. The released game is a fully client-side HTML5 package with no server, login, DRM, telemetry, remote API, CDN, streamed asset, or expiring authentication. Its only runtime dependency is a modern browser with Canvas 2D, Web Audio, and standard DOM support.
Every essential runtime file is included in the downloadable archive. Players can extract the files and open index.html to play offline, even if itch.io and the developer are no longer available.
Records are stored locally in a versioned and validated save. Players can export their five best records as readable JSON and import them on another device. Gameplay continues to work even when browser storage is unavailable.
The complete source project is provided as a separate preservation archive under the MIT License. The runtime uses human-readable HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with no compilation step, proprietary format, permission server, or remote dependency. If official support ends, the playable and source archives will remain independently playable, inspectable, modifiable, redistributable, and hostable.
Transparency note
Generative AI was used as a development assistant for programming and written copy. The developer directed the design, selected and refined the mechanics, reviewed the generated material, tested the complete game, and made the final publishing decisions.
The project contains no images produced by an AI image-generation model and no audio produced by an AI music or sound-generation model. All game visuals are deterministic procedural Canvas drawings. Music and sound effects are synthesized locally at runtime using Web Audio.
The itch.io project is disclosed as AI-assisted for Code and Text and Dialog.

I really liked the game's idea and mechanics. Well done! 👏
I like the visuals :)
The idea that the high scores became the monsters is beautiful. The enemies chasing you are literally numbers, I had a neon pink 999 coming after me. In a jam called high score chaser, making the player the chaser and the high score the HUNTER is a perfect inversion, and it reads instantly without a word of explanation.
"THE NETWORK ENDS. THE RECORDS DON'T" is the campaign in six words. And the menu footer is even better: FULLY OFFLINE, NO ACCOUNT, YOUR RECORDS STAY YOURS. You're advertising as a FEATURE exactly what the campaign is fighting for. Along with the Export Save in Mars Rover Builder and the memorial in Archiviste, that makes you the third entry I've found that treats preservation as a product decision instead of just a theme.
The banking mechanic is excellent too. A golden BANK ring in the centre, UNBANKED below and ARCHIVED above, and if you die with unbanked points you lose them, with the end screen telling you "only banked score survived the collapse". That's pure push your luck and it fits the archiving fantasy exactly. Mechanically saying the same thing the title says.
It looks great as well, navy background with a subtle grid, cyan fragments, the gold ring pulsing, all clean neon. And the HUD is complete and elegant: ARCHIVED, CORE OPEN with a timer, INTEGRITY as three diamonds, UNBANKED with the multiplier, the dash button. The end screen breaking down into BANKED / FRAGMENTS / CHASERS SHATTERED / PEAK MULTIPLIER is a proper results screen, which a lot of entries here forgot entirely.
Two notes. BEGIN ARCHIVE RUN threw me straight to the defeat screen the first time with no gameplay, and only worked on a double click afterwards, which is worth checking because it's the first thing anyone touches. And with 3 integrity points and chasers that come straight at you, the opening seconds are very tight. I died twice on 000000, though I'll be honest that a decent chunk of that is me being slow rather than the game being unfair.
Straight into my top of the jam alongside Archiviste and Save the Gacha. All three started from the same idea, a server dying and you saving what you can, and each solved it differently and well.
Pretty fun and cool UI!
Pretty fun to play!
ARCADE! I liked it
This felt like a mix between pacman and astroids, great job overall!
nice project and game loop, good choice of color palette.
The game's concept is nice, but Im worried the AI did more than "assist " you on this
