It took a little to figure out what to do--I missed the instructions, I guess--but I enjoyed it once I figured it out!
I'm curious about the physics behind having a grapple ability. Whatever the reason, I love it!
very creative
I gotta say this confused the absolute heck out of me at first, I couldn't even make the second jump let alone the beat a level. It kinda feels at first like you're supposed to use your electron as a point to swing on like spiderman, and that got me tons and tons of distance, but without being able to change directions it kinda just flings you miles and miles into the void lol.
Once I treated it more like a rocket jump, I made more headway and managed to beat every level. It's actually a pretty fun mechanic. I especially like building speed on level 2, it just has some problems with proper conveyance, I think.
I did notice there were tutorial prompts that would appear every now and then, but they seemed to disappear super quickly and I couldn't figure out how to make them come back, sometimes even after restarting a level they wouldn't appear.
Thats awesome, thanks for the feedback! You actually discovered the speed run tech before the intended route lol. Both are valid ways of completing the levels actually. The left mouse button wasn’t introduced in the tool tip in level 1 yet, so i thought people might not go for it, but evidently the tooltips really were not sufficient.
(and yes a rocket jump was an inspiration)
I like the concept and if you get the idea its so nice to travel around like this but you should focus on teaching the player this mechanic because even with the introduction i really didn't understand what to do. I like it very much!
Thanks! I had even more movement complications in mind until I saw my playtesters being completely lost in my first level (in in the current game) lol. It really was challenging because I wanted to give the players some fun physics but also not directly teaching the intended way to move.
Very short, yet I really like the execution. It’s not easy to play, but the way you used protons and electrons to contextualize the platforming is actually so genius. Also, I always light up when I see the Godot intro, best engine ever made.
