I like breathing ☺️
I like the art.

Would be a good little thingy to do breathing with, like you and this fictional dude are doing it together, like buddies or something.

Developer

That was the idea of Adam following your lead and your inputs, yes :) But maybe I should have communicated this a bit better. I'm glad you liked it!

Although my enjoyment was partially tanked by it being the first game in my queue.

Still, didn't want to let that impact the honesty of my review 😌

This felt like a well needed break after doom scrolling through fast paced games on this itch jam and also developing our own game in general. I even learned this new relaxation technique, I didn’t know this 4-4-4-4 method before.

Developer

Great to hear, that's exactly what I was going for! I can highly recommend trying the technique out from time to time. Everybody has a stressful day from time to time (or often)

Nice use of the theme, very unique and very relaxing. Some simple animations would really make it stand out, but hard to get everything working in the time frame. It's a nice break from the other games, good job.

Developer

Glad to hear it helped to relax! I agree on the animations, but I was pretty busy wrapping my head around Godot in general :) Next will be more polished!

A very interesting take to the topic, and a very special experience. Though I think it will be better if Adam's lung can expand and contract according the to movement.

Developer

Thanks! Animations were very basic, yes, I didn't get around to polishing them

Wow, very unique entry. I ended up doing the breathing exercise with him and it calmed me down a bit as well, so thanks lol.

Thank you, I'm glad it worked :)

I am not exactly sure how to rate something like this. I think it was a nice break from other games that I've played so far that were rather hectic, but ironically, as a rhythm game player, seeing a "you were 0.1 off the timing" actually kind of stressed me out a bit more.

I think I tried to get into the experience so much that I didn't realise until coming back to this page that his expression and everything were changing as I went on. That was really cute, because I only really took it in at the end. I will agree with another comment on here though than I think just a bit of narrator at the end, even just a "Adam was able to make his day a bit lighter with your help" or something would have tied it all together.

I appreciate this appearing on my feed.

I was torn on the timing difference showing up, so I do appreciate that feedback! I tried to lighten that distraction a bit by hiding this when you got the timing right, but I think I had gotten a bit too good at it during all the development runs and should have hidden this for everything beneath 0.3s or something.
As for the rating: Rate it as you like, I never assumed this would get high ratings. My main goal was to give people a little break and that seems to have worked out! If there's just one person out there who will continue to use this exercise in their daily lives, I'm happy.

Very soothing experience, and it definitely helped after a long day of stressing about uploading to the game jam on time haha
I loved how the background got lighter and lighter with each breath. I would have loved a little ending scene

Developer

Thanks! A little break after a stressful jam was absolutely what I had in mind :)
An ending scene is a good idea. I thought about a more nuanced intro scene, too (maybe Adam standing in a subway) but didn't get around to doing it.
Thanks for the feedback!
