I don't care what anybody else says, this game is not only OBVIOUSLY written by an LLM, it is also just extremely boring and aggravating. The character you play as is ALWAYS a pushover little bitch, you barely get a meaningful say in any interaction, and if you ever do anything the DM doesn't want you to do, you're just gonna lose.

Here is a situation: my character has level 20 agility. A count behind a desk crosses the distance from the desk to my character and without a skill check grapples me and there's some struggle and I need to be saved. Then, a trapdoor opens and (without a skill check) I fall in. If my character has 20 agility, there is no UNIVERSE where I don't at least semi-dodge his desperate attack, and a fair chance I can react quick enough to not fall in the trapdoor, since that would be reaction time (which falls under agility, I believe), not perception.

In fact, the whole time the narrator paints this picture that you are fucking helpless against EVERYTHING. If there's more than three guys, it's automatically 'Yeah, you have to comply no matter what'; if it's someone who can teleport (read: Nova), it's 'Oh, yeah, no way you're beating her' (I HAVE LEVEL 20 AGILITY), and you don't even get a chance. Etc, etc. They narrator doesn't say it directly, but the narration paints a picture where you are never the dominant figure in any situation. That shit gets old really fast. I am tired of my character constantly being described as weak or unskilled when it counts, and then magically respected and super useful the next (and then when I try to be a little stubborn, I immediately get fucking steamrolled and embarrassed without a skill check).

Like this shit is just fallout sometimes. Occasionally you will straight up have choices that are 'agree' or 'agree but in a longer way'. I fully intended to kill the Crimson Count the moment I stepped into his office and I was not afraid of him; but my character is a pussy and literally all my choices are apologizing and shit, instead of just biting the bullet and attacking first (level 20 agility!). We KNEW he was gonna kill us because we didn't get the chalice; why are we waiting around for it to happen? Aren't we battle-harded warriors with TWENTY ONE YEARS of experience? ATTACK FIRST.

Multiple times you will be asked to give up your weapons, and rather than giving you a check, you just automatically lose and have to do it anyway. I didn't want to give up my weapons when I went to the ball in ep 2, and I didn't want to give up my weapons when I met that annoying magical elf the first time; I also happen have the skill to physically prevent someone from taking them from me, but that doesn't matter! It never matters! Why even make it a choice?

And another thing: most of the characters are insufferable and you don't even get enough time with them for fun stuff to happen. Well, you do, but you get very little choice.

I made it to episode 2. DNF.

Also... I mentioned it was quite boring, and it was. It's very generic fantasy, but that's not in and of itself a problem and I can't really point to an example like how I can with the DM character assassinating my, uh, character. Or being railroad-y, whatever you wanna call it. But don't get the impression that this game being extremely fucking boring doesn't bother me as much as failing at everything I want to do without a check.

go be miserable somewhere else lol

You're right I come off a bit miserable but idk where else I'm supposed to go... How was your experience playing?

Ive been having fun so far but i can absolutely say youre right. Its impossible to actually be dominant in any form and its exhausting.

Yeah, right? Like, it's sort of fun sometimes and the beginning makes you think 'man, this is gonna be so cool' but then, like... you just are forced to be this hyper-submissive 'well, guess I have to' sort of character all the fucking time. I really made this post because I was just so angry I wasted my time and was lead in with a false promise of something good.
