I like the resource management, it doesn't feel to overbearing and it make sme think about where I am and the resources nearby before engaging in a fight !! The extra lil lore is cool too, and I like the vibe of the game overall. Very nice !!
Cool concept! I like the artstyle and the sounds are very nice! I really like the sound of the level tiles moving! I had a pretty hard time remembering which direction WASD went in since it was an isometric game. I also didn't like that when the lantern shrunk the stuff that was visible earlier wouldn't be in the same spot. Maybe make the object positions be the same when the lantern shrinks? Really cool concept tho! :D
Amazing game! the visual are very good!
cool game! very nice to play :D
It is sooo polished
I really love your art style! The color palette feels very comfortable and pleasing to look at. I’m also really curious about what font you chose — it fits the game really well. The music and sound effects match the game perfectly too. Great job, this was a really nice experience!
I can definitely see myself continuing to play this offline with the windows download version. Really polished game, the graphics are really nice.
The only thing I had a little bit of a problem with was the font when it was small such as in the Lore tab, I couldn't really read it well.
Overall, this game is nice and really forces you to use your turns creatively and efficiently, I love it!
Wow, it looks so nice! I really like the game's concept. And overall, it's really polished. Congratulations for this game jam!
Oh this is amazing!
I really love the music, somber yet playful, the lore was a nice touch, the general finite resource management is well done in the game loop, as you try to well reach the objectives while not starving. The sound effects and general movement is also great.
The only thing that felt off was the new island generation, it feels a bit too dizzying for the new lands going in, but perfect for leaving land.
I could see this being a part of a larger place with trying to find old ruins, or other travelers, dialogue, providing some meta-level progress, uncovering something on what happened before. The low poly aesthetic, the artwork for the upgrades, it... argh, it's just great.
Overall great game! Thank you for submitting in the game jam!
amazing art!
Art style is excellent! Very juicey as well!
wow... great work! this is super polished, a great idea, a fun mechanic, good use of the theme, well balanced. really enjoyed it! would be a really good phone game i think (simple controls). hope to see more of this
Nothing to say ! This game is amazing !
Great audio and art style!. The gameplay loop is solid. The effect of tiles appearing and disappearing is nice! Good entry!
I enjoyed playing this game and really liked the concept. Good job!
A nice game for the jam! I like the art and the audio. The directions kept changing so it was hard to read the UI at times. Other than that, it is a nice game idea. With some tweaks and polish you can definitely try for a commercial release! Good work!
The movements made me dizzy quite fast ^^'
However, the concept of moving with this restricted field of view is very nice, and the animation goes with it too!
Maybe it could be nice to have some kind of compass, to know you can go beyond the dark to find food/enemies ect..
Because otherwise we move without a destination in the hope of finding what we are looking for, but that is also part of the dramaticness of the game, so i would see why it's like this ^^
Very clean and polished experience, well done!
Really fun and feels really polished, well done! It would be nice if the how to play menu had images of like which thing give you which resource, as I found a bit difficult to figure out whilst playing. But still really good work, well done!
Your visual and audio design was really good :)
Gameplay was well made too but the controls were a bit hard in terms of direction! Isometric top down left and right breaks my brain sorry xD But anyway you both did really good!
PS. Azuria123 since your a husband wife team if you want the games to show up in your profiles Dashboard too just go to your dashboard and in the top left press edit theme.. A window pops up and you can enable visibility for games you have worked on!
Thank you so much omg I had no idea how to do this ahahaha, I've managed to update my profile now thank you so much <3
I think the controls in flame bearer has been quite divisive so its something we absolutely want to work on :)
Thanks so much for the kind review and help!
Haha no worries!
All you bith have to di is mayne just make a toggle option so the camera can be either isometric or top down 😊
I like this balancing of 3 resources. The only thing is that contolls feels a little bit off at the start but after 2-3 runs it's okay
I love the concept and artstyle, but I think the controls are a bit confusing. I think using a different camera angle could have made moving around more intuitive.
