I really like pirate stuff so I found the game to be super fun, having to take care of a small crew! I also liked how to integrate the uses of jam material! I find the game very nice and engaging, you want to continue!
It took three tries, but I was finally able to win. This was a cool gameplay loop, having to make several decisions on the fly. My main critique is that the time limit for making decisions was very harsh, requiring me to optimize some of the fun out of the game to be able to win. Rather than reading any of the text, I ended up having to just look at the indicators on the bars to see which would be favorable. I believe that a useful future enhancement is a more generous timer, and in exchange, the game no longer tells you what effect each action will have on the three bars until after you take it.
I like the idea of the game on a ship where you gotta take care of the people on their voyage. The visuals are great, the music fits perfectly, the vibes are totally there. The only drawback for me personally is that I don't have enough time to read through the text and the options to make a good choice (so you should may-y-y-be tweak the timer a little bit okay?). Other than that, it felt pretty good playing it
I love the aesthetics and the choices are interesting, but I do wish I had a bit more time to decide haha! I'd tricky to read through the info and the options before the choice disappears entirely. Great jam game though!
Well, adding a timer on a moral choice is definitely not for me 😅
That being said, it's a very nice take on the theme and the amount of work is quite incredible narratively speaking. Maybe the day timer is a bit short since I barely have the time to read an make up my mind about something. I wish there were a few extra seconds to make the experience a little less rushed since I kept getting thrown overboard.
Congratulation on the game!
Fun concept, beautiful art and music too. Well done!
Reading the other comments, my thoughts for helping people have more time to read the scenarios would be to pause the timer when a new scenario pops up but hide the options until the player clicks a show options button, then start the timer. Then people would have more time to read but still be pressed to respond quickly. Not sure if that would help, just an idea
This game felt so fully fleshed out and polished! I also loved the music, it's really cool that you all did everything for this submission. Really great entry we enjoyed playing it!

Loved the art, but the fast paced nature of the game gave me anxiety xD Jokes aside, great job!
Very great game!
My only complaint is that I felt I had to avoid reading what was going on at times and just focus on the arrows. It could make more sense to change the countdown to be just having a set amount of cards a day, then again that would probably make it too easy.
Overall a very great game! I really enjoyed it! Good enough for 5 stars in all categories in my opinion :)
"Speedreading: The Game" xD
I had a lot of fun - died to lack of rations my first voyage (I didn't account for how important they were given that they're the only resource that naturally ticks down), but made it by the skin of my unpopular teeth the second voyage. Really fun scenarios and I thought the consequences were generally clear enough while being complex enough that the calculus of what to choose on a quick timer was really satisfying. The art was really charming as well. Great game!
Such a lovely art style! I really love the setting of being a captain on a voyage, trying to make good decisions to reach land. The dialogues capture this vibe really well and are fun to read. Some visual feedback showing how the crew reacts to decisions would add a lot of extra charm!
I was a bit confused about how many decisions I could make. I tried to get through them quickly at first, but then realized you can skip some decisions by waiting until night. I wasn’t quite sure how the last unanswered decision affected the crew in the end.
Still, I really enjoyed it! Great job! :D
Nice job! Love the art
Cool game! My ship was found adrift many times. The decision making required is super fast so I was definitely vibing it out based on the options rather than the situation and it led me astray.
reminded me of reigns. quite liked the art and the writing!
I enjoyed the game. especially the music! I pretty quickly learned that it's way more effective to click through the dialogue as quickly as possible. Not necessarily a problem, but I did want to spend more time reading all the different scenarios.
Cool idea but I wasn't able to read the text fast enough. Maybe it would have been a better idea to have some amount of hours pass with every decision made.
Great level of polish and a really tight experience overall!
I felt there was a slight tonal dissonance between the chill and cozy music and the hectic time pressure to make your daily decisions, and I noticed that I really didn't have time to actually properly read through the text on the card and the decision options. I'm not exactly sure whether it's better or not to have the consequences be hidden, versus explicitly showing what will happen with each option, like some games do. It's an interesting design challenge for sure!
Overall great work, everyone!
I had a lot of fun with this! I think I told myself "this is the last run" at least 3 runs in a row. The options were also well written to force you to make some interesting choices. On my first playthrough I tried to make choices that I though were the most ethical, but just like Frostpunk that turned out not to be the best idea for survival. I do feel like provisions were especially hard to come by. Even when I focused everything on gaining provisions I usually couldn't make it past day 5 or 6.
Fun concept, I really like how the game looks as well, it's all very polished!! I think the timer ties in well by making the player make faster decisions, and it did lead to me making rash choices as the cycles were ending.. Great work!!
