Quite fun for short sessions. The art work was great. I believe someone had commented on the issue with the meteors, where the ship takes damage, other than that, it's nice
I really enjoyed the gameplay! It works really well for short sessions, which is great! I also really like the art style!
I did run into one issue, though: sometimes I would take damage while the ship was moving forward. Maybe there were some meteors whose sprites hadn't loaded properly, or perhaps it was something else.
Other than that, I found it very enjoyable! Really good game!
Thanks for your feedback!
I've tested again and could reproduce the bug. My best guess is that when restarting the game scene is not cleaned up properly and some asteroids remain without sprites. It does not seem to happen on the first time playing at least.
Nice idea and good effort in the time you spent on it. Could be expanded upon with more mechanics to change up the gameplay.
Took me a sec to understand the movement but once I got it, it became pretty neat! Super cool game!
There seems to be an issue with collision, my ship was exploding at times where it shouldn't have
Super impressive for 24 hours! I like the spin on the countdown theme. Sometimes I would just die without getting hit by an asteroid though, but not 100% sure if that was the enemy shooting me.
I would have liked more difficulty or some sort of progression as time goes on, but understandable for a 24 hours project
There seems to be a bug where after damage taken by player is not reset. Reloading the page fixes this issue. I like the idea as well.
I like it, decent concept and good execution especially for only 24 hours.
I have to ask though, what is going on when the player starts a new game that makes it take long to load? It just seems unusual considering the size of the game
That might be the awful "just spawn 500 asteroids when the game starts" code, since I did not want to spend time I didn't have building a proper spawning system
I've heard godot physics can be quite unreliable, but I haven't' delved too deep into the physics engine myself. If you plan to update this, maybe you could swap physics engines inside godot to see if the other one runs a bit better
Really fun take on the cooldown = countdown approach to this jam. The game looks, sounds, and feels great. I did notice an issue where hitboxes seem to linger after an asteroid is destroyed, its really rare and only seems to happen after a few level restarts. Overall great job, extremely impressive for just 24 hours in the oven.
