The 90s operating system interface is the best part. Several little grey windows with title bars and the three buttons, over a cyan desktop background, all inside a CRT monitor frame with a yellow bezel. Along with Delete Everything, you're one of two entries in this jam that really nailed that aesthetic.

Organising it as separate windows genuinely suits the genre: one window purely for stats (customers, score, HighScore, quota, employees, money), another with department tabs (sales, marketing, management, finance), another with just hire and fire, plus a toolbar with coloured icons. You build your own dashboard, which is a smart fit. And having a QUOTA with a HighScore separate from the score creates the right "hit the target or fold" pressure.

It worked, too. I hired 2 employees, money dropped from 1000 to 785 and the score went up to 800.

Three things. The start button only responded to a double click. There's no explanation anywhere: four departments, a quota, an employee cap, and no indication of what any of it does, so I hired completely blind. And the windows overlap in a way that hides information, the stats window sits partly behind the departments one from the very start and I had to guess at what was written.

The retro OS packaging is good. It just needs to explain the game inside it. Even one small "readme.txt" window on the desktop would fit the theme perfectly and solve it.

Really liked the artstyle, and it was a solid entry.

The major downside is that i had no clue about what to do
