Ranked from 17 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does your game fit the theme?
Scored cards downgrade in rank until they disappear (Ace to King to Queen, all the way to gone). With only 52 cards and no refills, every play permanently depletes your deck.

I like the twist on Balatro, but I think if I hadn't played Balatro before, this would be really hard to follow. Even having some guesses, it's hard to remember what all the different bonuses do just from their visuals. It would also be nice to see a preview of the final score for the hand before you submit it. If you had more time to add more fanfare and effects I think it would help too. The bottom part is informative, but a bit of a slog to interpret.

Still, it has some similar dopamine moments as balatro and is different enough that you have to think about strategies in a new way.

Thanks for the feedback. Totally agree on the bonus clarity and run info readability, adding card hover tooltips and color-coding next. Score preview I'm keeping mysterious on purpose though. More effects coming too. Appreciate you playing!

Fun concept and good execution! The old solitaire desktop-app vibe works well, and the SFX and music create a nice atmosphere. Following how the point scoring occurs can be hard to follow, but overall I enjoyed it!

This game was very satisfying. I was clickin', flippin', and chippin'. Nice work!

The animations are super smooth! This game was perfect to sit back and play while I was in teams meetings, I have spent the last 2 hours playing this and the only reason I am stopping is so I can rate more games! Fantastic job

I love games like solitaire. but this game is so pressuring me

Love the concept! You are allowed to play past beyond your target goal but at the cost of weakening your deck. Early game lets you roll adding a ton of power ups though. I never got to late game as I encountered some bug and my hand disappeared :(

I feel the hand name was barely visible, I didn't even realized there was that text until a couple rounds in. Other than that, great concept, and good work for the time given!

Developer

Thanks for catching that! Yeah it's a timing bug when you end a round while card animations are still playing, hand vanishes next round.

Will update after rating ends. Glad you like the concept!

Really fun game like balatro Super fun, impressed that you made this in 4 days Super nice work

Honestly, the fact that you managed to make a game like this by yourself in just 4 days it's absurd.

The game is really nice, I love balatro, and this game has some similarities to it, so, I really appreaciated this game too, I didn't really get at first why my cars were getting downgraded, however I understood it after a while, and I really like the fact that on the top of the screen there is written the name of the poker hand, one thing I didn't really appreaciate was the bottom side of the screen, I know it was there to let me know which cards changed into, however, more often than not, I found it pretty boring and not really something I would look at, but other than that, the game is great, relaxing music, nice sound effects, and I like the retro style you gave to the game. Well done!
