How does your game fit the theme?
The player has to race against a ticking countdown using their ability to go back in time, but every rewind creates a new timeline allowing you to interact with your past selves.

OMG, I literarily have a similar game in my drafts that I made a year ago. Great game! Much more refined than mine. Although the game has some bugs and the player movement is a bit floaty, (I could just jump and cross some levels without the clones), still enjoyed it. Love a puzzle platformer, I made one too for the jam!
Cool game, though I found a few glitches. I cannot beat level 10, I think the wall is supposed to become transparent when I hit the switch, but that's not happening so I can't get to the door, also you can wall jump in that level for some reason. There was also a few times where the doors disappeared, but I could guess where it was supposed to be and the trigger to the next level was still there.
Another thing is I think you should've made the main character more of a square shape rather than a tall rectangle if you wanted to do platforming on their head, it would make it a lot easier to platform that way.
I also think a lot of the levels felt the same, you make a recording of you standing still, stand on yourself and then jump to the exit. I like that you can scrub through the recording. The gifs show how to use that, but I never thought to do it and just started from the beginning every time.
Very cool game, especially when made for a gamejam. I have seen the mechanic before, but still a fun game. Good job.
Fun concept with some good art! Some of the exits were invisible, but otherwise pretty fun.
Thanks for playing!! The doors are hidden behind the background but we ran out of time D:
Really fun game, struggled on the puzzles (in a good way) and am absolutely coming back to explore this game more!
Great take on the theme, fits in perfectly.
THANK YOUUU!!
Nice concept and execution although I got to a level that was either not complete or I'm just dumb but there was no door. Overall cool game.
Yeah that's our fault sorry! The door's are there but they're hidden behind the tile-map background, if you jump around the room you'll eventually run into it haha.
I really enjoyed this one, love the main mechanic! I couldn't get past the first level with the switch though? couldn't figure out how to get past that door thing, but maybe im just stupid xD
That's on us haha we ran out of time D:
Really nice game and fun concept! I like the visuals too :D
Excellent job! Cool idea and a tricky concept to execute, but you pulled it off gracefully and I had a lot of fun. Here are my playtest notes to consider in case you're looking to keep working on it after the jam:
-When turning around, it feels like my location jumps (possibly due to the location of the sprite's flip axis?)
-It was difficult to position myself for a precise jump since it seemed like there was no acceleration time. Consider implementing a (very short) acceleration period.
-Consider implementing coyote time
-The watch is cool for UI, but the buttons should be a little bigger. The click-boxes are sized nicely, but you can't tell until you hover over them and see the gray UI box appear.
-In the running animation, the player looks like he's hovering a couple pixels off the ground
-Since a lot of puzzles involve me standing somewhere for a long period of time, a fast forward button could be a good QoL feature
-The door is invisible in levels 8 and 9
Thanks for the meticulous feedback! We plan to fix it up and add some more levels after the jam, this list makes it a lot easier haha!
Nice work! Fun concept, well-executed with interesting level progression
Great job with this game! I love games where you can have a clone army!
you fellas out did yourselves, top marks from me,
Such an incredible idea and game mechanics. It was executed perfectly. I could definitely see this becoming a full steam game!
Had a good time with this one, took me a second to work out the mechanics, but really cool once I figured it out, well done, great concept here!
An interesting take on the theme for this year, short, fun and straight to the point! I like the pixel art and the scrubbing mechanic, being able to interact with your past selves is a really fun concept and has a lot of potential for creative gameplay! :D
THANKS!!!!
Really cool really unique. Well done!
One of the most unique games from the Jam, really sticks it to the theme! The scrubber for time warping was sick, just brute forced me way through until one worked 🤣🤣, Great Work Guys!!!
You're too kind!!! Bless you.
A real mind-bender! I think there's a lot of potential in a format like this.
I'm very curious how you programmed the time-travel mechanic, nicely done!
Thanks! The time travel mechanic was made by storing a HUGE amount of data every frame, and ignoring all unity timing systems haha!
Was a lot of data per frame but not THAT much
We stored state and inputs per frame
Restored to state when time jumping, simulated using inputs when time resumed
Whenever you time jump a clone is created and the recorded data is handed off
For the animation continuity during scrubbing we override the current animation progress based on the time your previewing, regardless of when an animation started, kind of a hack
Very cool! That makes sense, thanks for sharing that.
Oh hey, fellow time traveling game!
Good job, it ain't easy to pull off this kind of mechanic, and it worked pretty well here
Some great bones on this one! Would have loved to see more intricate level design. Most of them felt solvable just by jumping, then going back in time and jumping on your own head. It also seemed like some of the later levels had the start of a switch mechanic, but it didn’t seem to be required to solve the level? (For example, Level 10).
However, the time-travel UI was super intuitive and easy to create tons of clones, as some of the other comments mentioned. The potential here feels big, would recommend seeing where this takes you!
Great job :)
Our submission is here (not linked by Itch for some reason?)
Thanks heaps for the feedback!! We did have a whole button, door, and logic gate mechanic but we ran out of time D:
One of my favourites so far. I love the mechanic of using your past self to reach to places you cant do alone. Nice work!
