Interesting game but I didn't understand it /:
Oh, right. Tell me—what part of the game didn't you understand? How can I help you? π π π
Nice twist on the theme while also tying it back to SKG as a whole!
The ghost speeding up helped ramp up the tension, though the QTEs were a lil repetitive
Could be cool to add some kind of streak/combo system or penalty for misinputs or leaving the cabinet alone for too long. Something to promote more risk-taking from the player
THX!!! We'd also like to add future updates to this game and include more features to make it more fun :D
This game reminds me of the scary mom from WarioWare, haha. The graphics are really cute.
One idea I had: it could be really fun if future updates added a few fake-outs. For example, the Glitch could sometimes make its sound without actually appearing, or a harmless "good" glitch could occasionally show up just to trick the player and build even more tension.
Nice job! :)
Thanks—it's great that it reminds you of Warioware. We'd also like to add future updates to this game. Thanks for your suggestions!!! :DDD
Well done, this is awesome! The art, the scene transitions, the sounds are all seamless.
THX! :D
This has the best story I've run into in the jam. A kid finds out the alternate version of his favourite game became lost media, gone from stores and wiped off the internet, and the only arcade cabinet still running it sits in an abandoned mall that gets demolished tomorrow. That isn't an excuse to make an arcade game, that IS the jam.
The comic panel cutscene is really well done, the CAUTION KEEP OUT sign, the lock, the close up on the character. And the mall itself is beautiful: graffiti on the walls ("Hide here", "Tic Tac Terror"), cobwebs, plants, the checkered floor. It makes you want to explore instead of just walk through.
Then I hit a wall. When I reached the playable part the character simply does not move. I tried arrows, WASD, clicking the canvas to make sure it had focus, pressing Z to interact. Nothing. I ran it twice, once skipping the intro with Z and once watching the whole thing through, and both times he stayed in the same pose. My guess is the HTML5 build not receiving keyboard input.
Please look into that one, everything around it is far too polished to be blocked on the first playable screen. I'd genuinely come back and finish it.
Hi, we really appreciate your comment!! Now let's see what we can do to solve the problem. Apparently, it's not a control issue, because the character's movement is indeed controlled with the arrow keys, and WASD is only for the game mechanics... π€π€π€
I'm a little confused; this hasn't happened to me before in Godot. Could you tell us which browser you're using? Some browsers do tend to have problems, although it's rare for it to happen in Godot. And one more question: does the character display its idle animation? Can you hear the sound effects in the short cinematic?
It would help us a lot to know all this, but we also thank you in advance for your interest in our game, even though it's really just a scenario and simple mechanics π π π . I don't know if it would be against the rules to upload an executable in the midle of jam. Thanks again for your comment.
Interesting.
Thank you! :D
The art and sounds are great! And i liked the entire theme.
Thanks!!! we're trying to do something really stylish.
The art and sound are excellent!! Great entry!
THX!! :DDD
Love the art! Gameplay reminds me a bit of those old "Kiss while the boss isn't looking"-type flash games, but the fact that you actually have to control the stick adds some much needed depth.
Thanks—it's such an honor to have one of our games compared to a Flash game, haha. THX!!!! :D
