Nice setting and world-building. One piece of feedback I can give is that I think force counts down every time player move and when the count runs to 0, it resets everything is kinda ruining the enjoyment by a lot cuz it's kinda annoying to have to collect all the evidence again and moving become decision planning that cause inconvenient more than a fun challenge. My suggestion is to make it a timer countdown and when it run out you lose instead. Hope this isn't too harsh cuz I really like the style of this game.

Cool vibes and story. The counter mechanic needs some balancing/additions to make the route planning more interesting.

Thank you! Yes, we're planning to make sure it works better in a post-jam version of the game, as we noticed most problems only after the deadline.

Love the style and the character designs!!

Very good story and gameplay! It reminded me to the Case of the Golden Idol on the way you solve the mistery

Nice work.

I like the genre, the step countdown is more annoying than, helpful. I’d like to play a more polished post-jam version.

Thank you! We're working on it!

I like the art for each of the characters and how they are all super distinct as a result. The story felt like it had a lot to dig into.

The step counter mechanic felt too restrictive. I'm not very good with memory games, and having my progress reset constantly discouraged me from trying to finish the game. I assume there's some fun timing puzzles with the body being moved and similar, which could have been fun.

Tysm! Sadly we didn't have any time to test, and only once the game released we noticed the DESPERATE need of a board of progress to track down what you've done in past runs. We are planning to make a post jam that includes it, since when you finish the steps you always feel that sensation of "oh i'm back to the start now", not really realizing your progress in each run, or having a way to plan your next one.

Developer(+1)

yeah, we only really noticed that when testing and it was already too late for the  jam. we're planning to add a progression tracking mechanic for a post-jam release tho, so that even if the run resets you can still see the clues you've gathered across runs!

All the artwork and sprites were really lovely! It was nice to see you put a narrative over the theme too, something often overlooked.

I gave it a couple of attempts, but personally the resetting after 100 steps somewhat put me off what is a cool idea. maybe had I been given some extra steps to look around or a reason I reset with my previous knowledge narratively I'd have felt more incentivised  to keep poking about.

Really like the classic murder mystery vibes though, mixed with the typical clue "X was killed with the Y in the Z" Nice work, I can see a lot of effort went into this!

Tysm! We noticed that too, steps felt just like a limit, since you really don't understand what you've exactly accomplished each run. The game is mostly about planning your next route, and only after seeing friends play it we noticed the need of somewhere to check your clues and plan your next run. There was a narrative reason, but the time was really crunching us and we only noticed afterwards that in fact: it wasn't in the game.

Ahaha, it's easily done to miss things like that under time pressure. I slid a kill box into a place it shouldn't be in our one and we nearly pushed with it somewhere gamebreaking >.>

Very cool premise and creative characters! Can't believe how much content you crammed into this in such a short time

That's an interesting idea, and I loved the mushroom people

Loved the art and all the names of the fungi lol, and it's a very creative play on the countdown theme.

we made the first scene the credits because we wanted to show off external assets (we forgot to hide it)

A mushroom mystery is a great concept, executed with humor! Big fan of the Clue-like deduction too :)
