End life plan
The game will remain freely playable in the browser on itch.io indefinitely. The source code will stay open-source on GitHub under the MIT license for educational and preservation purposes. We plan to keep the online page active, archive the codebase, and potentially ship minor post-jam quality-of-life updates based on community feedback.

Transparency note
Scrap & Pressure was built for SKG Jam 2026 using Vite + TypeScript and pure HTML5 CSS Grid for the core puzzle engine. The custom 8-minute industrial soundtrack was composed in Strudel (TidalCycles REPL), paired with audio samples from Sonniss GDC sound libraries. Background visuals use the @paper-design/shaders WebGL library. AI tooling was utilized for code prototyping, copywriting, and promotional cover art.

The game lets me stack some objects on top of each other, like these three "L" shapes.

The game's audiovisual presentation is really good, and the core mechanic has a lot of potential.

I just feel like there's something missing to discourage playing too safely. I found myself placing pieces until the board was about half full, then immediately going for the squeeze.

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I actually noticed a ton of bugs right after submitting, so I’ll definitely fix the piece overlap issue after the jam. I’m also going to rethink the overload warning system since it currently doesn't really build up tension properly, and I might add another mechanic to push players into taking more risks.

It was the first time I'd played something like this. Everything felt perfectly in sync, in my opinion.

Developer

Really appreciate that! Wanted it to feel like all the pieces (mood, pacing, sound) were pulling in the same direction, so hearing it landed that way means a lot.

This is hands down my pick for best game that I've personally played/rated in the jam. I really enjoyed it.

Thanks so much, that really means a lot! Glad it hit for you.

Really cool twist on Tetris! Turns into more of a strategy/resource management game

It was a lil confusing at first that the next piece would immediately overload/jam your machine. I played a few rounds where I tried to maximize my pile and then died.

The presentation is fantastic: Love the art and theming.

If you were to flesh this out, maybe add some kind of minimum quota mechanic or other source of pressure, since eventually it felt like the optimal strategy was just to pack it to ~60% or so. Didn't feel like there was much incentive to risk packing the press tighter.

But this has a lot of potential, one of my fave games in the jam so far!

Thanks so much, really glad it landed!

You're spot on about the 60% issue — that's exactly the gap I need to close.  Adding a minimum quota / escalating pressure so playing it safe stops being  the optimal move, and pushing your stack closer to the jam threshold actually becomes worth the risk. Fixing that.

Appreciate the sharp feedback — this is super helpful.
