A permanent bleed state is a very creative way to enforce a literal countdown on the player (acting as both health bar and time limit). There's a sort of "idle game" feel to the game in the sense that you need to increment enough blood points across runs in order to purchase upgrades that will make succeeding runs much easier. I was also initially under the impression that the game would end once you defeated the enemy wizard, so the reveal that there was an entire second level caught me off guard but in a good way, since that meant more gameplay content.
One issue I did notice is that the game starts to lag a bit when too many player projectiles (either from the default magic spell or from the "nail spread" powerup) appear on screen, which can cause the frame rate to get choppy when playing "reckless" (as KingsbladeGames put it). There's also some graphical bugs such as the main character still standing once her health pool reaches 0 or not playing her dash/slide animation while spellcasting (likely because there's no animation for this situation), but the overall game is very solid for its playtime length and replayability.
I felt that the combat was missing a mechanic that raised the skill ceiling because at this point that combat is kinda simple. I still had fun the game fit well with my reckless playstyle in games like Hades
Fun and replayable game. Before buying the blood magic, I had a little bit of trouble clearing rooms without taking large amounts of damage, but it was a very solid experience after that.
Super cool game!! has a great atmosphere! :)
This is so addicting. I'm a sucker for this kind of replayability, nice challenge, I always felt like I was progressing, and I love how you can build it however you want. In my first playthrough I didn't even touch mana and minimal health (like a glass cannon build, my favorite) but in my next one went full heavy-mage
Im not really good at games, so I couldnt even beat the first level. But the artwork and design of the game was pretty nice!
this was actually really fun. im surprised theres so much content. i only beat lvl 1. but also tbh you couldve chosen a better name
Nice game with cool mechanic ;)
