How does your game fit the theme?
"Brake-Down Protocol" interprets the theme on multiple layers, starting with a literal race against time as the remaining distance to a fatal tunnel ticks down to zero. Mechanically, your survival depends on successfully counting down your brake levels step-by-step to zero, while system overloads and mistakes actively push the lever back up to sabotage your progress. Above all, the game turns the prompt into a meta question, forcing players to constantly figure out "WHAT to count" by listening to wheel clacks, tracking yellow poles through the fog, and ignoring visual distractions before time runs out.

The mechanics are too complicated (simultaniously counting ticks and poles while also distracting at brake... Not sure if it's ever possible with single person playing). But atmosphere and cutscenes are mad in a funny way, like it.
This was super fun! I liked the cutscenes a lot :)
I wasn't Train'ed for this
Really creative idea. The sound design was great, which is obviously crucial for this game. It took me a while to figure out what to do, but I eventually got it.
i never got the good ending even with reading the instructions, never understood what the "TONK" meant. the count of click click wheel never changed. regardless: trains. and visually funny
Thanks for the feedback!
After the jam, I'll make some improvements on making the machanics more understandable.
I wasn't able to save the train :(
💀 🚃
I really like the concept of driving a train through a horror like atmosphere but I did not manage to really understand what I am supposed to do, even with the description. Some small tutorial or hints what exactly I screwed up would be very helpful. really dig the low poly artwork though.
Is there something you struggled with specifically?
For example, simply knowing which control does what. The gear in the middle seemingly moved in some direction, when I clicked it it moved the other direction but only sometimes, then there were numbers on some of the controls that I did not know the purpose of. I did read the description but had a hard time connection the information to what I saw and heard in game.
Alright, thank you for your feedback!
I will make some improvements and additions to the game after the jam has fully ended. This will definetly help me.
