It's an interesting idea, but at first I accidentally picked something up and scored 550 points. I don't understand why, but overall it's an interesting game, if you don't take into account the mistakes.
Thanks for playing! I'm not sure I understand what you mean, did you get 550 points after picking up a single object? That shouldn't be possible, I'd appreciate any additional information you could give me to find exactly what happened
During the game I touched one ball, after which my score changed from nearly 10 to 550. This happened to me every time I play the game. i got 300 or 350 score at once. This is that moment screenshot.
Well that's certainly not what I was expecting, pretty much everything seen in that screenshot should be impossible. There are 11 balls on the field, but only 10 spawn at the start of the game and they only respawn when another ball is discarded. Then there's the huge stack, every ball except for the bottom one has the same size and sprite, which probably means that the same ball was cloned 300 times. Looking at the code the only way this could have happened is if an error was thrown after spawning the ball but before setting its position, which would also explain why they have the same color and size. Could you check if there are any errors on the console when this happens? I'd really like to know exactly where it's crashing. Thanks for your help!
Interesting implementation of the theme! I would have thought the stacked up rocks would also have hitboxes, which was a bit cnfusing for me.
Thanks for playing! I thought about adding hitboxes to the whole stack, but felt it would be weird as the rocks are stacked on top of each other and wouldn't really collide with any others. Not having hitboxes also felt weird while testing though, especially when you have a big rock on top of a tiny one and you don't collide with things you thought you would. It's one of these situations where both options are right and wrong at the same time. If I ever develop this game further I'll try to come up with a way to make the hitboxes clearer
Once I learned the strategy for staying alive, I wished there was more to do! Really neat concept for a game. I got a high score of 60.
Thanks for playing! My high score while testing the game was also 60, so good job! The game definitely needs something else to do, maybe different items you can pick up or some sort of objective other than getting a high score. I'll think of something if I come back to developing this game
Cute concept! Felt like I was struggling when I got to 5 boulders to get to any others in time. Maybe some form of power-ups could be good?
Thanks for playing! I agree, the game definitely needs some kind of power-up system, or at least adding more properties to the boulders you collect other than size and speed. I'll think about it if I ever turn this into a full game
