How does your game fit the theme?
You lose your deck (deck "destroyer" instead of builder) because your deck counts down every time you take damage! And you have to race to the Blender to make a smoothie before your fruit goes bad!

I like the idea and there are a lot of different cool cards! ^-^

The background music don't loop, and the game become completely silent after a while. I think some sound effects when moving and playing cards could also improve the game a lot.

My main issue is about the UIX: having to drag in the right space, click confirm and click on a tile for every single card is a bit annoying. You could try to reduce friction in many ways, for example you could assign the left mouse button to play cards and the right mouse button to move the character, or maybe implement some keyboard shortcuts.

The art is really cute! There's definitely a lot of potential for depth and interesting strategies with all these cards. Some UI elements were a bit unclear in my opinion and it would be nice to telegraph enemy attack patterns and health amounts. Can't wait to see how this gets developed further!

Super cool idea! I wish there was a way to speed up the pace though.

I like the idea and got what I needed to do quite quickly. I found it a bit annoying having to discard and confirm so often  just to move bits and pieces, maybe if discarding made you move  forward straight ahead or diagonally? Well done on the game!

such a creative approach on the theme! I didn’t really understand it at first, since I started playing with the arrow keys, but once I read the instructions, I instantly understood it. I liked it, even though I am not really into deck building games. Nice game!

I loved the art, but I found the game UI a bit unclear at first. A few game rules weren't obvious just by looking at the layout, and I had to figure them out with trial and error. I really like the way you've turned deckbuilder on its head and the emphasis is on playing and sacrificing cards rather than accumulating them. I think that with some more polish, this could be a really engaging "deck destroyer"!

Thank you so much! We're excited to add more on to it, but definitely ran out of time for the tutorial. I'll add more in the page description.

Very cute characters.

Developer

Oh thank you for checking it out! Your game was adorable!!

Really neat concept!

I think the main goal isn't suuuuper obvious at first, but really enjoyable deck-builder :) the art is cute but UI could do with some touch ups, on the whole really solid! ^^ (I know I need to work on the UI in my game at the moment lol)

Little bit hard to read, but very cool concept and take on countdown! Cool game!

Such a cute design and super fun to play. The variety of cards makes the game really interesting!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad you had fun!

I like the colorful design, very original. I'm not very familiar with deck building games myself so it was a bit hard to understand what i was supposed to do. What are your next steps when you develop the game further?

Developer

Thanks! 😊We're planning to add a menu/opening screen with a tutorial for sure haha!

Then we want to add some new "Juice" cards where you can smash two fruit cards together in a Juicer to get more powerful cards (most of the logic and cards are written but we didn't have enough time to implement it). One of the big things with deck building games is that it is often a good strategy to make your deck smaller so you draw the best cards more often but here that also impacts your health so finding a balance will be key.

Then we want to add more biomes (and make each one a little shorter than the current one so you can get through levels quickly). Maybe we'll also make a system to randomize enemy placement or vary your starter deck a little so each game is a little different.

Lastly, some more sounds (one for each card you play making a silly little noise) and some more animations for when you shuffle your discards into your deck or play an attack card!

The idea is so smart! It's very fun to play with the cards. It felt a little slow to move though, but apart from that pretty fun. Good job!

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback! I'm glad you liked it!

Love the idea of a deck destroyer instead of a deck builder! There's definitely some cool design space there.

Thanks! We were a little over ambitious with the number of mechanics (whoops!) but it was fun and I'm excited to add more to it!
