The game kept crashing, I think it's a problem with my pc tho.
I see that it is your first game. Congratz for submitting the game ! Now, there's a few things you could improve. You can do a small animation, or text, when a potato is cooled down so that the player can feel rewarded. Right now we get the next potato instantly and the player can never rest. Then you could add some obstacle. Like things between your hand that could catch the potato and that would be a bad thing. Like that the best strategy won't be to switch the potato fast anymore.
I encourage you to make more game ! Congratz !
Thanks for trying it out and for the feedback! I was coming back to an idea of making a game I thought about from years ago in the past couple months, and decided to use the Jam as motivation to actually open the engine and try something, instead of just thinking of making a game.
Regarding the animation - it was in the initial idea, but I didn't have the time to really get to it to polish the visuals. I was also planning to make the hands at least have some idle animation like move side to side a couple pixels, or in a circle at some slow pace, instead of just being static.
As for the obstacles - I'm not sure what kind of obstacles you mean. Like some time frames, when it is less beneficial/impossible to pass the potato?
I tried to include some math to make the strategy less obvious, as the "permanent" damage hands take are based on the current temperature, and eating a potato has diminishing returns. Although there's also a multiplier based on the time the potato is held without switching hands and there's a chance I coded or calculated it incorrectly to the point it neutralizes the effect of hotter potato dealing more permanent hand damage.
