I’m surprised this doesn’t have more ratings! It’s very fun to play and the upgrades are very satisfying (if a bit overpowered at times). The music was quite catchy, and between the metronome and the sound effects from my powers, it was like crafting my own battle soundtrack. The UI could maybe be cleaned up a bit and the graphics clarified (maybe have an actual ground texture?), but otherwise I really enjoyed my time with it!

How does your game fit the theme?
Your weapons fire after a 2 second countdown, and the game revolves around positioning yourself in that countdown. Buying upgrades for your weapons reduces the time to complete the run.

Had a blast playing this ^^ At some point I picked up enough rockets, shurikens and a big falling gear that I didn’t even have to do anything anymore. I was just idling until the audio broke and the game eventually froze at 1:35 haha! Was quite fun until that point though, even though I did struggle a bit with the controls initially, but the power scaling and just grabbing fun upgrades was quite enjoyable!
I appreciate the art with a simple brush when you have to deal without an artist when making a solo game. SFX and music are really good and the gameplay programming is well-made.
This was fun, liked how you did the time but like others said it was overwhelming so maybe tone it down if you continue working on it
Big, silly fun. I enjoyed the driving soundtrack and the simple but juicy visuals. The game is quite easy once you really get going, but then, that's kinda the point of these "bullet heaven" style games. You almost have too much time to spend on upgrades, but watching the screen become a flood of bullets slicing through enemies like butter is funny and satisfying. Great work!
Both mechanics were pretty cool, I got real overpowered before realizing that I used all my time and was totally screwed. Maybe a little UI element to show you what you are spending would be good? I really liked all the juice, sfx was super punchy and I was a big fan of that. Nice job!
really nailed the countdown theme, found it to be fun and enjoyable, loved the timer as currency for upgrades. I did break the game on the final wave by jumping too many times in a row (I think) so consider this a bug report but overall I loved it!
I love the concept that the music is linked with the bulled you shoots! Like the multiples options too, it was very fun ! Maybe this is just my PC but the game became very laggy around 8 wave and completely freeze in the wave 4! (playing on the website)
I'm just curious about the end of the game!
Fun game to play.
First run i was like: Oh i can get every upgrade :), oh im so powerful :D, oh i have 1 minute to complete the whole game :/
The gameplay is nice and satisfying, theres some variety of weapons, variety of enemies, only problem is the frame rate going down. My game froze, i change to EXE file and the frame rate still went low at the end.
Great job though!
Also, you can try my game if you want, it just takes 5 minutes ;)
I became EXTREMELY OP almost immediately, but I still had a lot of fun blowing everything up. I was really impressed by the efficient use of the art for movement too. Despite being simple it was really obvious what all the movement was, the rocket hands type poses. Very well used.
Good job :)
Wait this is the coolest take I've seen in SO long for tower defense / vampire survivors / rhythm games! I love how the cost to obtain upgrades is your own level time because it rewards players who go slow and steady (they spend less) AND players who go fast and spend lots.
I feel like a neat improvement to that mechanic could be giving players a little additional seconds on the clock per round (maybe like +1 minute per round) or something; that way it would incentivize spending more because players who clear levels fast enough will farm extra currency. Just a thought. Overall fantastic concept!! And I love the fidget spinner enemies lol
I'm glad you like it!
Yeah that's a good point about giving time after each wave, there are some survivors-likes that recover health after each round to encourage more aggressive play so that would be the equivalent. There's definitely a lot more I could do through tweaking the numbers once judging is done!
The animations on the main character made my day! Such a great idea and a really well-done execution. Loved it!
