I enjoyed this more than I should have. I liked the terrain generation, it's something that is never necessary for a jam but it really adds that little extra coolness factor!
An interesting game which made for a nice little challenge. Others have mentioned the lack of wiggle room in some of the layout, but I think it'd also benefit from more feedback when taking damage. It's impressive work to get this kind of generation working though, and the controls were mostly fluid and pleasant. I had fun!
(Some issues on the linux build for me, with the game only rendering in the bottom left corner of the screen!)
Some animation there is a good idea, thanks.
I don't know where that issue came from though. I develop on Linux, finding someone to test the Windows build outside of Wine was the bigger challenge from my end. It does have a resolution setting in res/settings.json, maybe changing that would fix it?
Fun little driving (cruising?) game! Procedural generation will always have a soft spot in me, but holy cow this game had me driving through 1 pixel gaps several times! Didn't back off from the challenge, tho. Had fun driving it the little times I could take it fast. Art could use a little workk tho, not very fond of the waves/clouds effect. Still, had fun nevertheless ^^ (also, working straight out of the box on linux too <3)
I was planning to have it widen gaps along all the routes, and the waves definitely looked better before the terrain was there. I plan to do at least one update to clean up some of that stuff. I develop on Linux, no surprise there. If I wasn't running into memory issues I would have had a web version too.
Cool idea and super fun to play. Could maybe benefit from starting with easier map layouts with a little more space to maneuver and less dead ends for the first level and increasing difficulty from there, but it was a super solid, fun challenging gam
Yeah, I will say that the map is entirely randomly generated, and I thought the maneuvering was the most interesting part, but that is certainly on the list of things to improve
