I just could not figure out if I was supposed to click, mash buttons, do something else?

The swarms are pretty intimidating, and with the camera flying out of the rooms, I kept being surprised to find myself not dead, but also not sure what just happened!

I think there is a lot of charm here, and I would be keen to see the original idea realised.
