The idea is excellent. A scoring game built on orbital mechanics, with real altitude and velocity, is far more interesting than another shooter. The preview image shows the HUD reading "SCRAP: 1 / SCORE: 0 / ALTITUDE: 27.0024 / SPEED: 6.0989", and an altitude number with four decimal places promises actual simulation.

The composition is lovely too: the planet in the centre, the dashed orbit around it, the little ship with its thruster lit, orange asteroids and grey debris scattered through the star field. Lives as hearts at the top, and all of it readable within PICO-8's 128x128. And using PICO-8 means the cart file itself carries the full source, which is about the best end of life answer available.

Here's the serious problem: the cart doesn't run for me. I can see the preview image perfectly, but the moment I click to start, the screen goes black and never comes back. I tried reloading the page, waiting 15 seconds, pressing Z, X and the arrow keys. Black the whole time.

So the only thing I was able to evaluate was the cover art, which is a real shame, because of all the ideas I've read in this jam this is one of the ones I most wanted to play. Worth testing the PICO-8 web export on another browser or machine, because as it stands nobody can get in. Ping me if you get it running and I'll come back and rate it properly.

Thank you so much for the feedback! Which machine are you using? I'm using Google Chrome on a Windows computer and it seems to have been working for various others on different machines. Maybe try clearing cache and disabling browser extensions or ad blockers?

After the jam I can add the .p8 file to the itch.io page, I would appreciate your feedback on the gameplay very much!

thats a great interessting way handling the ship. I feel it could be simplefied by make the arrow keys left and right the directional change and the boost. 1x press = directional change, 2x press in the same direction = boost

An unusual game. Love arts and atmosphere. However, I didn't find out what should I press to start the game. I started poking random buttons until the game started
