why doesn't this work? why is this game so hard?? also  why can't I rate the game??? cool game tho

Submitted(+1)

nevermind, I beat it. It confused me because the bomb didn't blow on 0

Developer

Thank you for liking the gam, the reason why the bomb don't blow on zero is because there are so little time to fix the bug that if player use their last move to surround the bomb, the bomb will just blow up, and I think I do know the reason, but I just don't have anytime fixing it, sorry about your confusing gameplay. I think the reason you can't rate the game is because the rating session is already over when you try the game. But still thank you for trying the game out and giving us feedback!

Great puzzle game! The artstyle is really cute, the dialogue tone is great.

As others have said, those first two levels really are quite unforgiving. Level 2 sent me through the wringer and making the obvious solution 1 short was kinda evil. The other levels were great though, shame some people probably got too disheartened to see them.

I hope things go better for them with the aliens in the other timelines :(

Developer

Thank you for playing, and thanks a lot for liking the game! Yeah I think I really should work harder on the ramping of difficulty, maybe I should just leave the steps for the first level 50 or more, which will make the game much easier, and probably swap level 2 and 3. Glad you like the artstyle and the story! The aliens in level 5 will leave humans alone peacefully :D

I like sokoban style games and I did enjoy this but MAN is it unforgiving lol. I'm not sure if there's leeway for winning or if I just happened to complete the first 2 levels with the exact number of moves haha. I feel as though you could have done with another level of pushing the box to the correct location with the bomb before introducing ice mechanics too.

The art and narrative are really good though, with the cartoony scientists and assistant having to solve the bomb threat. The drawings are cute and I liked the lil RC car. I think you've done a good job with this, just might need some tweaking on the bomb numbers.

Developer(+1)

Ty for trying this out, yeah I do think I need some tweaking for the bomb number, the first two levels are set to the exact number, I feel rlly sorry about this, because I didn't think of ramping of difficulty that much, will really work on this part next time, and sry about the uncomplete introduction to each level's mechanics. Tysm for your feedback, and thank you for rating this!

Really solid concept for this one! However, I think making the timer so exact makes it much too difficult, especially when it starts quite high. Maybe if it were instead more generous, but had a ranking system (where you get a perfect rank by doing it in as few moves as possible), that could have been a bit better. Good effort though! I like how the levels have different gimmicks.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing through it and giving me feedback! I also think the game play is quite hard in the next day after the submission but at that point the submission is already ended,  since I was pretty tired after submitting this so I went straight to bed after submitting. Adding a ranking  system would be a really nice idea, thank you for your advice! We will def try harder next time on everything. Really glad that you liked it!

Really fun game once you get past the tutorial (which was incredibly difficult, at least for me), I really like how it's like a bunch of different puzzle games bundled into one thing. The dialogue got a little repetitive (I get the alternate universe premise, it would have been nice if it had more variation regardless), and some more audio could have been good, as it's a little empty, but I really did enjoy my time with it. The one where you play Snake and surround the bomb with boxes was my favorite.

Developer(+1)

Tysm for trying the game out, really sorry about the difficulty in level 1, we were really in a hurry creating this game since it's our first time trying to do this, will try harder on creating some easier and more interesting puzzles next time, and we will work more on the dialogues next time. The reason we didn't add any SFXs or voice acting is that I was still working on some minor bugs in the last hour which is supposed to be for uploading the game, but really thank you for trying the game out and giving us feedback. Glad to hear that you liked it!

Nice game, overall its not that hard. But tbh, would really appreciate the timer is set to be not exact move limit. Especially on early level

Developer

Thank you for playing and thank you for your advice,  it's our first time creating a game and participating in a gamejam, we will def remember this advice and try harder to present a better game in the next time!

Hey, that's a really fun game to play! The artwork and the dialogs both create a great atmosphere, I immediately knew what my task was and could go straight into solving. One small bug I found is that the dialogs sometimes repeat, like for instance the introduction one is also present on level starts sometimes. The puzzles were really creative, level 3 got me cause I didn't really understant what to do there xD. I surrounded the bomb with boxes and it still exploded and I lost xD. Thanks for the game :)

Developer

Really thank you for playing the game! The dialogs were repeated on purpose due to the settings of the story, where those two people found bomb in their laboratory, and this event happened in every parallel universe, but those two people got different solution in different environment. Sorry for your confusion in level 3, but did you surround the bomb with all 8 boxes? Could you be more specific about what your situation is in level 3? That would really help us, and thank you for playing after all and leaving this comment here.

Nice take of the theme ! The puzzles are quite hard though haha

I appreciated the little story, congrats !

Developer(+2)

Tysm for playing our game! It's great to hear that you love the story. Sorry for the difficulty of the game, it's our first time creating a game and participating in a gamejam, would def try harder on designing leveled puzzles.

Submitted(+1)

well design! But are you sure the second level the legal move is 26, i always end up 1 step miss before the hole.

Developer(+1)

Tysm for playing,  the best solution is exactly 26 steps, after you push the bomb down once, you have to go up then left and down, instead of  left, up, left, down

thats cool

Cute game, I think there could have been a first easier level to adjust people into how to play the game, I failed quite a few tries the first time around. Maybe if the bomb only ticked down when you were within 5 or so tiles from it, since you mention it looks for 'changes in its area'?

Otherwise great job on getting a game out! The thumbnail is cute :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your comment, because this is the first time for us to design and complete a game, sorry for your confusing experience if the difficulty bothers you, we'll try harder next time!

Also thank you for your comment on the thumbnail, I've already passed this message on to the game's artist :D

This game has changed my entire life

Developer

Sorry if the texture in level 2 bothers you, we accidentally replaced the wall tiles with the floor tile, but because we adjusted the color of the wall tile and floor tile by a bit in the godot engine, so you still can tell that which is wall and which is floor.
