I really liked this game! It's a twist on the classic snake with numbered heads to match the countdown theme - at first I may have been a little confused, but I picked it up and it was fun. I liked the idea of strategizing to make sure you don't hit the wrong color and thus create a new head.

My main gripe is: I don't really know if there is a particular reason you can't just go for all colors? I guess if you kept alternating for example, you would get more heads which would ALL start counting down, which is ofc not good; ig what I'm saying is maybe you could add some more incentives for choosing the same color (idk like combos?). This is a bit nitpicky though haha.

Also this is probably just me but the sound effect for collecting a square is a little annoying, but again this is really nitcpicky (I'm only suggesting this because your game is quite good).

Also I noticed that it seemed a little unresponsive to my keyboard (it likely *isn't* but the turns always seemed a little delayed, so either adding some sort of sound or visual effect to indicate that I have turned).

Thanks for the wonderful game!

Pretty cool, got a length of 33 dunno how good that is. I felt I didn't really need to think about the colours i grabbed. Later in the games the times are just long enough you can just run into everything you see.

Had fun.

Really cool! At first I wasnt sure about the idea of your snake getting smaller when numbers ran out since the game would get easier when you get smaller. But It all kinda clicked once I hit the numbers being around 20-40 and having like 5 colors on the screen. Really fun once you have to avoid certain colors and pick up matching ones. Very fun!

Nice twist of already popular snake game with countdown theme.

Very clever take on snake and use of theme! I like it!
Controls felt a little off kinda unreponsive or laggy, just something to tighten up.
A little bit of juice whenever collecting each block would also go a long way in making it feel impactful and satisfying.

Interesting twist!

Creative idea, I liked it a lot! I was not certain whether the game encouraged me to have a high countdown or a long snake, and I wish that a countdown expiring would drop the tail to eat my own body if necessary.

Regardless, it was a very fresh take on the snake game! Congrats on the submission :)

Solid take on the gamejam, essentially mixing the theme with The Snake game, very creative!

Genius twist on a classic! Really enjoyed this an could happily sink more time into it once it's had a bit more polish.

Great jam entry :)

This is a really unique take on snake. I really enjoyed it, it was fun trying out different strategies (like trying to collect everything from one color to make a big head, or instead try to lengthen the snake). Really fun game!

I really enjoy this idea, feels surprisingly strategic. I agree with the previous comment about snappier controls, maybe by making the snake faster or getting rid of grid-based movement. That aside, I had fun! Good work!

Tip: put "how to play" in the itch page's description.
Hitting the border as soon as I get longer is annoying. Teleporting to the other side would be better.
Controls could feel snappier, not sure how.

Cool, a speedup in the game's rhythm would be good.
