Developer(+1)

Agreed on sack-boy 😂 Thank you for playing.

Movement feels a bit sluggish. Other than that, the game is great. Excellent effort for solo developing this in four days. I think this is the most creative story and design choice I've seen so far. Good job 👍

Developer

My usual template for a third-person controller is generally "snappy". I deliberately tried to make the character have a bit of weight this time. Maybe a bit too much then :D

Submitted

Pretty basic, story feels a bit stretch, mechanics are somewhat arbitrary. However the game is very solid from start to finish, it has every part required for story, tutorial and atmosphere. Graphics is gorgeous (aside from some stock UI elements). Overall it feels like a nice finished game, which is much better than an ambitious unfinished one.

Game deisgn wise, I found myself evading purple light so much that I didn't even see the monster itself, so a player can miss some content on a normal playthrough. Maybe it's better to add jumpscares or scripted encounters to at least show monsters to the player. The difficulty and level design is good, I completed game first try under a little stress, feels perfect for a jam game. Great job, congrats on solo submitting a cool game!

Interesting story and art, really like this idea on the jam theme, cool atmosphere also :)

I LOVE the game. Extremely creative on the story and gameplay. But i kept getting lost while i was out in the open and it would've been better if there was a small mini-map to navigate. Other than that, great game

VERY cool game. Cool theme, idea, art, sound, everything was nicely odoen. Good job! ;)

Incredible story and of course incredibly interesting take on the theme! I might admit i got jumpscared once or twice. I loved the story behind this too!

I loved your game! Nice story and very nice atmosphere!!
I am a composer and producer so I was a bit sad there is no music on it. The potential for a really nice music track is enormous. It could have elevated the game even more...
If you need music for your next project please do contact me, I would love to collaborate with you! :)

Developer

Thank for the offer! I solo developed this time so my time and resources were limited :D

I only beat this because of a bug, lol. But good game, very scary in a psychological kind of way.

Developer

Hi! I didn't have time to playtest much. Could you report the bug and tell me about the difficulty?

Submitted

Sure. Basically, on my second try, my heart counter ran out but I didn't die, which means I was invincible and could finish the game with no time pressure. Before, I found it hard, but that may also be because I first didn't realize there was a map.

Developer

That sounds like a bug :D It should sen you to a very sad end-screen :(

Submitted

Yeah, I saw that end screen, I think it's well written. The bug just happened on my second try after that.

Developer

Would you happen to have repo instructions 😃

Submitted

What do you mean?

Submitted(+1)

I got scared to death

Developer

I didn't get a chance to test this with anyone else, how was the difficulty? Thank you for playing.

Submitted(+1)

I think it's fine, I played through once got all bears except one before my heartbeat ran out, but I think I could've made it if I played with the knowledge of the map beforehand. Although I couldn't figure out how to get the bear in the top right...
