What else should I include in the plaintext version?

Hey folks! I’m putting the finishing touches on my art zine and I’m writing up the plaintext file for it.

As it’s an art zine I have a very small wordcount in total, and the focus is more on the drawings. Should I include the alt text within this .txt file, in the .pdf, or both?

If there are any other accessibility considerations, please lemme know :D

Thanks!

Hello! Thanks so much for working on a text only version!

Would you mind sending me the art zine so I can take a look and give more tailored advice? Feel free to pop it through to me at blackwoodpress@proton.me.

My other recommendation (before seeing the zine) would be to use a word document or similar for text only versions, in case you were looking at doing a .txt file. With word docs you can still have a proper heading structure (e.g H1 as the top heading, followed by H2, H3, etc) while .txt files don’t have any way of distinguishing headings from body text. So it can make it tricky to navigate with a screen reader.
