DreamLing — a free browser visual novel, made from a novel I wrote ten years ago

Hi all, first release here.

DreamLing is a free visual novel that runs in your browser. Ten chapters, English, first-person, roughly two to three hours. A modern traveler wakes a girl who has been sealed for a thousand years, and travels across China trying to send her home.

The source is a novel I wrote in my early twenties that never found an audience. I've wanted to see it rather than read it for a long time, so I finally built it. No code involved on my end, I used a browser-based VN editor and it exported a standalone HTML5 build.

Some notes so nobody has to dig for them: it's completely free with no payments, donations, or tips of anything. The character art and backgrounds are AI-generated and hand-picked, the audio is locally generated, and the English localization was LLM-assisted with human review. It's an unofficial fan work that pays tribute to a classic game; all related rights belong to their owners.

Choices branch and there are multiple endings. It saves in-browser, so you can close the tab and come back.

I'd genuinely appreciate any feedback on pacing and whether the English reads naturally. Happy to answer anything about how it was put together.
