...
i'm gonna be blunt here. mainly because i'm mad.
i literally have not gotten to the game yet.
the tutorial for the signals is genuine ass.
what does ANYTHING mean?
how does polarity work?
what does a successful signal look like?
genuinely how do i do ANYTHING without relying on the internet and bullshit explenations on reddit to function in THE FUCKING TUTORIAL?!
pleasei beg of you

FIX. THIS.
i barely understand THE THING MEANT TO EXPLAIN THE GAME TO ME.

i got this game for free and i still want a refund.

i suck at explaining things
but god i am mad.

that's all i can say.
that, and that i'm really fucking dissapointed.
i understand making a game is difficult. really, genuinely, i do. that shit harder than mount everest sometimes.

BUT CAN IT BE THAT DIFFICULT TO MAKE A FUNCTIONING TUTORIAL.
IT'S A TUTORIAL
EVEN EA DOES IT BETTER.

but, if you want me without frustrations...
i'll put that below.
not above. below.like my expectations for this game after the tutorial hit me with a crowbar over the head.

the tutorial for signals and polarity is barely passable. i can't click "next" anywhere to go to the next instructions. i have trouble understanding literally anything it's telling me.

i can't even give feedback on the rest of it because i haven't gotten past polarity yet.
and i refuse to cotninue trying at this point. i feel like i've wasted an evening trying to understand something rather than playing a game.
and i really hate that feeling.
i get you work hard on this game.
so let me give an example.
a parkour game.
as the game's creator, you know where all the jumps are, how the mechanics work, where the secrets are.
new players do not know any of this.
trial and error is not always a valid teacher in a game like a platformer, espescially not if the player just got here.
nor it is always a valid teacher in a game that requires precision, like VoTV.
that is what i think.
and i refuse to keep playing untill it's adressed, because i CANNOT keep playing until it is.
and if you need at least one suggestion?
try adding pictures.
they tend to help.
sometimes.

alright. you lot don't seem to get it. (if you don't think it applies to you, whoever's reading this, then it probably fucking doesn't.)

the point i am making in the post below is NOT. that i don't like hard games or simulators, that i don't like repetitive tasks, nona that.

THE POINT I AM MAKING IS THAT IT'S A FUCKING TUTORIAL YOU DUMABSS

A TUTORIAL
SHOULD NOT
REQUIRE
A FUCKING TUTORIAL

THAT IS BACKWARDS IN A WAY THAT MAKES THE GAYS LOOKS STRAIGHTER THAN A LEVEL

CHRIST.

A person should not have to watch 20 minutes of videos to complete the TUTORIAL of a video game. "Why?" you may ask? Because that is what a TUTORIAL (built into a video game btw) is for. I don't blame OP for not wanting to spend 2 hours on a tutorial segment that is vague and convoluted at best, WHILE having to also find content on the internet explaining what is failed to be explained in game. On top of that, you insisting that AI is the best way to approach A VIDEO GAME, is in itself ridiculous.

thank you for understanding. at least someone reads the post unlike everyone else.

i appreciate you, i hope you have a nice day or night, whatever it may be for you :3

我只能说我对英语不熟练也能过了新手教程,多点耐心吧兄

(+1)(-1)

i have a feeling two hours is enough time for my patience to run out if i'm stuck on ONE PART OF THE TUTORIAL FOR THAT ENTIRE TIME

(+3)(-2)

youre the kind of person to atomize your phone because you didnt get 3 stars in bad piggies

(+1)(-3)

Well, you look like a man who reads with his ass. The post was not about achievements, but about the fact that spending two hours on a fucking tutorial it's the peak of idiocy, and such a review from a player should be a kick in the ass for the dev of this tutorial.

(+1)(-4)

and you're the kind of person to punch a wall because you lost in COD.

Essay for the Tilted One
Believe it or not, the tutorial is this detailed and in-depth because, if I recall, people complained about a lack of detail before this. And after a while, the average new player would just skim through the dialogue, bypass the entire tutorial, jump in a hole, and start the story mode, then go and complain that they have no idea how to operate anything and that the game sucks. They implemented a fix for this by kind of forcing you to actually read the tutorial windows, but it doesn't help that it's a lot crammed into one continuous learning experience.
I do think the tutorial could be dumbed down quite a bit for the average person, but then again, the game isn't really made with the average person in mind; the controls have to feel like using old retro tech, and many things require out-of-the-box thinking skills, which is normal for an experienced gamer (such as yours truly), but not normal for the average Joe.
I also think even if the tutorial was dumbed down, most people like you just wouldn't get any real joy out of playing this game; you probably aren't the target audience if the janky, ever-changing tutorial in an alpha version  game pisses you off this much.
Ain't trying to be mean like most of the people replying to you either, because they probably assume you sound ridiculous and are rightfully filtered. I just think if the game is getting a Steam release in the future, I'd just wait for that, as the tutorial will most likely be dumbed down enough to get through without hitting your head against the wall, but my advice is to just keep your cool, read the text, press the buttons, and you'll be done in no time. Less time than a 2-hour tutorial video that people were directing you to.
You can do it. I believe in you.

Why do you reply to this guy? English isn't my first langage and the first time i played the tuto, i' soft locked myself. Result? I just played the game and learn it on the rope.
And, more than a video game, it's also a simulator (even with is part of mystery and secret.) Learn the base, by tuto or by video or by yourself, but don't aggro the people who understand the game, it's itself fault for juste run again and again against a wall...

i literally skipped the tutorial first hand, i've got in the game...........spent 5 hours being a blind and dumb kitten, then i played the tuto for five minutes, got bored and then after two days of not inderstanding the mechanics i actually got it and started playing the game.

And it's not as complexe as it seem first look. He even reorganise the consols to follow the flow...

(+3)(-2)

maybe just read lol

(+2)(-3)

i call into question your lack of reading comprehension

I'm unhappy to hear that others also suffered with Polarity's explanation, lmao. I figured it out eventually, but it's so poorly worded and explained that I left frustrated.

It would seriously benefit the tutorial to give the player an objective so they have an idea of what success looks like at that part.
