Nice gameplay & story! The writing was really good and I liked the dynamic the brothers had.
Thank you so much !
I loved the story with the brother and how it relates to what is currently going on with the battlefield.
Thank you so much. We just wanted to interpret the theme uniquely and shell shock (PTSD) among soldiers immediately caught our eyes. Couldn't agree more that how relatable and true it is specially in the current battlefield circumstances.
The story is definitely the star of the show here and it got me completely invested. The addition of difficulty levels and audio sliders is heavily appreciated, because the audio is pretty loud by default. Like others have pointed out, the sfx get repetitive and grating VERY quickly, but I do love the sound of the shotgun. It's very crunchy. The logo is also very eye-catching and well designed. The gameplay is simple but gets pretty hectic on hard mode and in the later waves, with the enemies' increased speed and tankiness feeling challenging while still remaining fair. I did have an issue where I accidentally clicked out of the tab while aiming and somehow got wedged onto the bottom track of the map, but since I was on the 12th wave it didn't bother me too much because I was almost done. Overall, the biggest praise I have for Shell-Shocked is definitely the interpretation of the theme, which was original and unique!
Thank you so much Silvertones. We appreciate the feedback, had it not for the time constraints we would have looked to the SFX and others properly. It's just We added the music and SFX at the last moments, so couldn't try out how it would feel in-game.
Thank you so much I enjoyed writing the story a lot. Thanks to our team here this was possible in just one day.
I am a really fan of games like Hotline Miami, Brotato and Enter The Gungeon, so I really enjoy to play games on this style. Amazing!
Music volume slider adjust the music volume but the SFX slider seems to also adjust the music's volume. However, the sounds were quite repetitive and annoying (maybe could have played each audio source with randomized pitch). I liked the story elements and cutscenes, and the controls were very intuitive and fun. Hard to tell when I'm actually hitting the big enemies and maybe there should be particle effects that play when you damage them to better indicate that. The animations are very minimal. Fairly impressive given the context that this was completed in 27 hours.
This project was rushed that's why we couldn't fix everything, we had to plan, develop and publish the game in 1 day. Thanks for your feedback. The issues will be fixed.
I Had so much fun contributing to this project and for a game which was made in a day it's very good. My username is changed to whatever this is because i made my itch account long ago so.. and honestly I enjoyed the thinking of the story a lot.
Yeah we had so much fun together making this game. And it actually turned out to be great considering the fact that you, me and Robson were able to finish this in only 27 hours. Well done my friend!
Cool game, Great art and visuals. For 2 days, well done. Noise can get distracting, and it is hard to estimate the damage area from enemies. Often dying when I thought I was far away enough. But had fun, well done :)
You can turn down the VFX as well as music sound in settings. Also yes I know the area one was an issue but we had to do that because we didn't had enough time to animate. You can also change difficulty and controls in the setting.
very cool i beat the game! the background looks good
Thanks man. We actually joined the Jam late and managed to pull this off in just 27 hours.
