hell yeah for the 8-bit cover music. Everything was pretty cohesively solid, and I like the unique idea a lot.
I couldnt figure out how to fullscreen, the bottom part of the viewport is cropped on the itch page for me in firefox, it might be an itch upload setting? It made stuff like the grip strength and other important information gone :(

How I built it / process notes
I built WIND//BREAK in React/TypeScript and HTML5 Canvas, with Codex helping across design, code and testing. The idea was simple: make the hurricane the enemy. I kept tuning the wind until you couldn’t just walk against it — you have to read the sand, use boulders for cover and manage your grip stamina. Everything runs without a game engine, including the pixel art, animation, debris and storm effects. Codex also helped build a bot that actually plays the game for the trailer, with Playwright capturing footage and FFmpeg assembling it. The itch cover uses AI-generated pixel art. Music is used with the remix creator’s permission and credited in-game. Mpre interesting for me was actually creatinga workflow for the trailer after. I always sruggled to get marketing material as my other games show. This is a real progression for me. So even if I dont win Ive learned that now!
How does your game use the theme?
Rock. Scorpion. Hurricane. Rock you like a hurricane by Scorpions. (I'm old )
