Cool game the music was pretty good!

Such a cool game! Loved the music. I also appreciate the video walkthrough, as well as how easy it was to understand the controls.

Very cool! I liked the music quite a lot, the retro style fit the art very well. Keep it up!

Super cool and frustrating (in a good way) game! In the first bit, my only issue was that the spikes clipped a bit through the edge of the floor so I died by getting too close. Loved the music, it was really well composed and helped me lock in when I was about to rage quit. I love a good challenge though! The gameplay also became more fun as I got the hang of it, it was just this part that got me... :D

Cool game. A bit hard. Could not get past the second level. Nice simple art. Very on theme.

I might've clipped myself under the map...

SUPER HARD but it was really rewarding beating the levels!! Love to see a kaizo mario fan!

I do not know what compelled you to make a kaizo platformer but I have no choice but to respect it, this slaps. I wish there were more levels, but I greatly enjoyed what is here already, my only real complaint is that the spike hitbox extents a bit onto the normal ground, but other than that this is some great tight-platforming!

First time making something in Godot. I do think the hitboxes are a bit rough on this one, but thats more mistakes that wont happen in the next jam ;)

what a hard and cool game lol. Wish there were many levels with the difficulty being slowly increasing. I also wish the throw shell was a part of the keyboard rather than right click, its  like the only one input not on keyboard

The mechanics you've implemented are very smart and fun concepts. I did struggle trying to execute some commands and I think the collision on the spikes could be a touch more forgiving, but it was a cool level layout and idea. Great work!

A really hard game,

But still fun!

I liked the mechanics but found the game very difficult

very hard but cool mechanics!

I can def feel where the inspiration comes from. I really like chaining bounces when you start to learn the right timings. However, the final jump on the 2nd stage is brutal. My left middle finger still hurts from spamming the S key. Great Job!

Thank you! Yeah i also struggled, which was part of the plan but it maybe worked too well. It took me a while to beat it... too long

I'm not good at platformers, in fact I'm pretty bad at them actually, but I powered my way through this game for a while and had so much fun doing it. There's a level satisfaction to figuring out a mechanic or how to get around an obstacle that's almost puzzle-like and I just had so much doing it. I really like the mechanic of throwing shells, jumping off of them and then landing a jump you thought was impossible is just so satisfying. Great work, you really nailed the gameplay!!

Developer

I really see possible mutations for this game that could add more spice! But i know if i went too far i would be on one of those youtuber rage bait games tier list. Thank you for the review!

Pretty difficult platformer but I like movement mechanics you've made! Reminds me of Kaizo Mario shell jumps and Hollow Knight parry jumping :)

Simple but fun ✨
