ive downloaded the game files, ive extracted the file onto my desktop, but when I try to open it nothing happens
Ok, just to cover the basics
Did you download the correct version? (I.e. windows vs mac vs linux)
Could your antivirus be what is blocking the file from running?
When you say "ive extracted the file onto my desktop" did you grab everything (as shown below) or just the exe? If so, you need that to still be in with the other stuff.
If you're trying to run it on your phone you'll need a separate application to help run it like Joiplay to run Ren'Py games on those systems.
