It is a really nice game.

Very fun game, felt like an older action adventure game which was fun! Really nice job! (:

I liked the chess-piece horse enemy, and the music is a masterpiece—I could listen to it all the time; overall, the game is great too.

very successfully captures the unique charm of old-school top-down adventure games.

i really like the design ethos here. generally, the game plays really well with risk reward;  potions being a full heal encourages you to weight your choices, since waiting till you're at 1HP makes healing more efficient, but that's obviously quite risky. spikes being on a consistent time cycle means you can risk taking extra damage if it means passing through multiple areas faster. there aren't a ton of unique enemies or obstacles, but this is a good example of not really needing that, as long as all the components are meaningfully distinct on a mechanical level.

between the audio issues and the simple visuals, its not exactly a polished experience, but the core gameplay is very well thought out, and i had a lot of fun playing it to completion.
