Your submission should be made only in the jam’s timeframe. Other than planning or outlining, please do not start before the formal start date. Use your best judgement and your honor.
I don’t trust my judgement aligning with others’. Opinions, please?
There’s a project that would fit well with this that I started and stopped when I changed my mind about its focus. Some of the mechanics, story lines, and images are maybe halfway serviceable. If I start over with the script and and make sure to keep the existing photos out of the media mix so there’s no overlap in project files except for code (maybe not that, if I swap out the programming languages), then that counts as made only in the game jam?
Or is it better to skip this jam because I’d publicly mentioned working on the game concept before, which could cause confusion?
Or, on the other side, the work of searching for and manually cropping images counts as prep work and can be kept?
Nothing but potential game titles and vague descriptions was shared, because I was mostly testing out some of what might be possible for me to do before.
