The shell shattering and the sounds are very satisfying! Very simple and nice gameplay loop with the shop upgrades and shaking the shell. If this game were extended beyond a demo I think the shell shaking mechanism would get a little frustrating, so maybe instead of shaking, you could hit the shell against a surface or something to shatter it in a certain number of hits that scales with how fast you hit the shell.
Yeah, some other comments said similar things. I plan on adding something like that. Thank you for commenting, it means a lot. I love some satisfying sounds myself, so I wanted to make sure that even if the game was simple, it should sound great!
The shaking gameplay was super unique and fun! I wish there was a bit more content to hold me over. The content does get a little tiring like NicoSalad said so having a way to mitigate that would be nice. Finally the 2x was so op that I was able to get 10k in seconds.
I’m sorry about that! It’s my first game I’ve ever made and I only wanted to include content I knew I could code correctly. As I learn more I can add more features- upgrades, auto shake, way more shells, maybe different docks or areas, stuff like that. Thank you for playing and rating, it means a lot!
I finished the demo and the game was pretty fun! I really liked the sound of shaking the shell it was super satisfying. Since the game is so short it doesn't overstay its welcome, but honestly I wouldn't want to shake my mouse around any longer than the length of the current demo, its a little tiring. Overall it was still a simple fun game.
I did find one bug: the purchase option for ending the demo remained on screen after closing the shop menu
Im glad you enjoyed it! the next upgrades would include an auto-shake or else a toggleable switch for autoshake (keeping the sound effect). I will also check out that end demo button and try to fix it. again, thank you for commenting and rating!
My main problem was how long it took to shake, but other than that pretty fun take on a clicker game
yeah im sorry that I didn't explain in the game, but if you wave the shell in larger circles instead of shorter ones, youll find that the shell breaks more quickly. They actually break pretty fast. Sorry for that though!
also I know its a lot to ask, but do you think you could rate it? I'm not asking for you to give me super high stars or anything, but an honest rating would mean a lot.
I think a "shaker game" is a fun spin on a "clicker game". I liked the hand drawn style, especially the titular shell sprite.
Thank you! I’m not much of an artist myself, so that “hand drawn style” was literally my attempt at drawing with a mouse xD. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Cool game, I think visual queues about the durability of the shell would be helpful, also seeing your coins pile up somewhere would be pretty satisfying
Thanks! If I finish it i'll definitely keep that in mind.
Guys it would mean a lot if you could rate the game. I don’t care about winning, I just want feedback
I loved the sound effects in this one! They did exactly what they needed to and felt satisfying
Thank you ! That’s nice of you!
It's a really short game, with simple graphics and mechanics. It's probably one of your first games, and that's a reason to say congrats!
Well I came to the jam about 2 days late and didn't have much time. I'm not a scripter or artist, I'm actually a musician. I want to improve and thought doing jams would help me to get better. Thanks so much for playing it though!
Well, we are in a similar situation, i'm going to upload my game "That's not my Shell" probably tomorrow!
I started to make yesterday, so i'll be a really simple game too!
