A Seed of Hope, Growing Hope's itch.io page

Artistic Statement / Use of Theme
Our Project A: Seed of Hope, Growing Hope incorporates the theme through the aesthetic of the game from the village, the positive climate solution, or the call to action to stop The Company from spreading its toxic influence on those around them. The artistic intention and inspirations come from Stardew Valley, a very eco-friendly game that we based our whole look off of.

Development Summary
Our initial idea of the game definitely changed from what we have now. There were things cut out of the game and things we added to make up for some things taken out, like planting a seed and upgrading the weapons. The greatest pitfall we had but solved was the dialogue system for the characters. The hardest thing to cut out was our planting a seed and having each seed be a different plant. Last but not least, my team has very big, sky-blue ideas, and we're even better at coding, but we all fall short cause ofthosee ideas, but it complents cause its what made this game.

So for me I like visuals, the music, and the character art is cool. The combat is a little slow and the enemies should have a health bar so you know what your chances of the battle are. There should also be instructions on how to play the game like a tutorial before you play the first level. Game looks really good so far otherwise

This is interesting! I wish I had a visual indicator for my weapon's cooldown. Wait ~ why do I have a carrot sword again? This is how I felt during most of my experience. I really wanted more narrative out this game, especially with your team taking inspiration from Stardew, and the music being really quite good. I'm all for the fantasy, but there was not enough of it for me to feel immersed in the gameplay entirely. Thanks for making!

I love the idea of a rogue-like game fighting large corporations to preserve the local community! I was a bit confused by the gameplay, though, because sometimes I couldn't attack. Look forward to seeing how new enemies and the narrative will turn out in future updates!

I like the style of the game, both the art and the sound are great. First I did not know what to do. Then I talked to some random dude (press E). I crossed the bridge to the left. Three guys turned up and beat me up. I tried to defend myself with the carrot, but to no avail. Game over.

Cool idea, but probably some more work is needed. For example the carrot fighting could have been more fun and easier to understand.
