[LFS][Hobby/RevShare] Seeking Unity Devs & Artists for "Hero Awakens (HLS)" - An SAO-Inspired VR RPG (Meta Quest 3)

Hello everyone!

I am building a collaborative indie team to create Hero Awakens / Humanity’s Last Stand (HLS), an original VR RPG inspired by the feeling of Sword Art Online, engineered natively for the Meta Quest 3.

Our Scope & Reality Check:

We are entirely realistic. We are executing a strict Three-Beta Strategy. Our focus right now is entirely on Beta 1: a polished, 1–4 player co-op dungeon crawler loop with a living hub city (Blacksmith, Food, Supplies, Small Mount Prototype) and physical weapon combat. We are focusing heavily on mechanical loops—balancing Stamina/Mana consumption across 5 races and 10 weapon types across 5 dungeon difficulty tiers (Normal, Hard, Expert, Nightmare, Abyss). We are mapping out stage-based dungeon progression leading to unique prototype boss arenas, tracking 6–8 enemy types who feature explicit roles and powerful ultimate attacks.

We want to make Beta 1 small enough to actually finish, but polished enough that players finish the dungeon and say: "I want to go back in."

About Me & My Role:

My name is Manuel Castro, and I am the owner and founder of RudeStudio. I am completely honest about the fact that I am a beginner developer without coding or 3D art talent yet. However, I am dedicated to studying the engine alongside you. I am stepping up as the Studio Producer and Coordinator—I will handle your task tracking (via Trello), repository coordination (GitHub), game math, narrative lore, and coordinate rigorous community playtesting so your time is never wasted.

Commitment, Rules, & Transparency:

RudeStudio operates under a strict code of mutual respect. Egos are left at the door, and everyone has an equal democratic vote on how our creation takes shape. Because this is a Hobby / Revenue Share project, we understand that life comes first. All we ask for is honesty and communication. It isn't fair to the team putting in hard hours if others vanish without a word. Any future store or Kickstarter earnings will be split completely evenly among active team members.

Who RudeStudio Needs (Max 10 Spots for Backup Coverage):

  • Gameplay Programmers: Focus on VR physics, Stamina/Mana resource systems, controller mapping, and weapon weights.
  • Network Programmers: Focus on multiplayer replication (Netcode for GameObjects or Photon Fusion via Git).
  • 3D Artists & Animators: Low-poly, stylized fantasy assets optimized for mobile VR chipsets (Quest 3 standalone).
  • UI/UX Designers: Creating clean, peripheral, diegetic VR health bars and party windows.

If you want to tackle a structured, carefully-scoped VR challenge for your portfolio where your creative voice is truly valued, let's build something beautiful together.

Hey Manuel, Hero Awakens sounds like an ambitious project — I like the honesty about where the team's at and the structured Beta 1 scope. I'm primarily a Godot developer (I've published mobile games under my own studio, O2cool168) rather than deep Unity/VR experience, so before I commit I wanted to ask a bit more: how far along is the current Unity prototype, and is there existing groundwork for the VR physics/netcode side, or would that be built from scratch? I'm interested in the gameplay programmer role and open to picking up Unity more seriously if the project structure and team commitment are solid — just want to get a clearer read on scope and where things stand technically before diving in. Happy to hop on a call or keep chatting here, whichever's easier.
