it's quite confusing to use the left key to go right and the right key to go left when you're on the right side of the ring, i get that it's the outer/inner stuff but there's probably a way to make it more intuitive, otherwise keeps me on my toes

up/down would probably be better. 

Going back and forth between mouse to navigate menus and keyboard to control the player is tedious. I'd suggest having one control both, or both control both. You could have a keyboard button run the game so players don't even need to touch the mouse, or left/right clicks move inward/outward so players never need to move their hands away from the mouse.

The instructions clearly say to avoid the red breaks, but only a few loops in and I've grabbing/avoiding different colors with no warning or instruction.
