Great concept! Took me a few rounds to fully get the hang of it and find my rhythm. Congrats on finishing the project!

This is SUCH a cool concept done well. Took me a few attempts to really get my fingers understanding what the colors meant, and when the enemies started doubling back was a genuine surprise!

Score 3200, and I'll be coming back to this. I only just got to when "picture" is a factor, and I need to get my fingers to understand *press space*!

Really well done.

Excellent gameplay concept executed well. Room to expand with such a solid base.

YAYS :

  • The next level up with the more complicated waves was an awesome touch that was needed.
  • The Art suits the low res.
  • Common sound effects are sharp but not annoying / Music is a nice ambience that fits the theme.
  • Moving background was subtle but made the screen interesting. It did not fight against the harsh red/blue enemies though, so it added to the appeal.
  • Anchoring with SPACE was a neat trick but personally i found myself not using it. May be more useful on bigger maps.

NAYS :

  • Although avoiding the red was intuitive, it was not so obvious to need to hit the blue. I did realise after a few plays, and you did have it in the [?] menu so that's on me for not reading :P I feel like there could be a more obvious way to portray it / integrate that obvious link with the graphics you already have.
  • I loved playing over and over but dreaded having to use the mouse when i was just using keyboard so precisely. Add menu navigation with keys?

Thoughts :

I'd love to see bigger grids in future too / weird shapes (eg diamond) to also explore this!

What a cool concept. I’m surprised I’ve never seen one like this before. It seems such a stupidly easy proposition at first, but after just a couple waves, wow, they really catch me off guard. Well done!

One little annoyance though! I wish we could restart from the keyboard. Annoying to have to reach for the mouse every time.

score = 3268

Interesting! I'm dumb so it took sometime to understand the game, but then I got addicted to it. Nice work!

Interesting game. I like the idea and the style. I can see how someone would get addicted to this. Nice work.

This is awesome!!! But I wish the sprites were bigger. I had a lot of trouble telling the actual rows apart.
