Love the funky abstract artstyle!!! It felt a lil empty on some levels but I enjoyed the gameplay loop and it provided a decent challenge. I could see this being a great speedrunning game. I can't wait to see more from y'all :3
First jams are always really rough both in just how much you have to learn as well as knowing how to scope properly for your teams skill set. Many of us have been feeling the absence of many composers this jam too... Im glad you all got to submit something though and I hope the experience has been fun albeit stressful and that this jam provides a nice jumping off point for future jams :3
As for criticisms, I must admit that in my play through, despite the player appearing to be armed in some capacity, I never found out how to attack. The damaging floor tiles also didnt seem well communicated... but I suspect both of these problems are symptoms of lack of time more than anything. Looking forward to seeing how you all develop skill wise!
Thanks for the comment! i personally really enjoyed working on it ( even if i was pretty stressed that last day :p ), and i'm absolutely going to join more jams!
We had originally intended to add a ranged attack, but just as you suspected it got cut in the crunch, along with some kind of health indicator
