I played this moon with my band. Really fascinating ideas here, actually too many for me to use in one story but I wanted it to be a little rushed so the players felt a sense of urgency. But I think I kind of failed to convey that without a hard time limit. One of the players was a humble pearl diver, another a refugee from another moon dumped in with all the others, and the third player was a syzygyst summoned to try to predict the tides. They were all promptly arrested, and found that the encroaching waves had made the queen only more paranoid, greedy, and selfish. They discovered a string of kidnappings with Angels as the culprits, and when their new npc friend was taken as well, he came back for the finale to explain that the crustacean-like Angels are just the next stage of evolution for the doomed citizens of Cadersain. Thanks for the idea!
Good name and impulse, I think the tone is really strong on this. The narrative rhythm with the great void looming and the corpse sun dying is also great.
Also reminds me of a similar planet in Foundation.

It's been so long since I read Foundation that I don't recall that planet there, but it wouldn't surprise me if I was drawing from that a bit too; there's a lot of good 'dying Earth' stories that I've enjoyed and wanted to pull the feel of.
