Super pleased that these come with big lists of fun, flavorful events; that's the hardest part of writing new downtime projects for me, and it really brings a lot to the vibe and feeling of this entry. Using scaling dice for the events table for the purpose of a project is also cool tech, and I just love the feeling of Mourn the Lost as an excellent companion project to Spend Time With Loved Ones. Neat stuff!

Loving all the seasonal supplements this jam! This is an excellent collection of downtime projects that all feel very different from each other and are quite fitting for their respective seasons—with a bunch of neat events to boot! Nice touch with the layout coloring. I'll certainly be making use of these at my table.

The events being determined by a D10 is an excellent way to make downtime feel like actual gameplay rather than just a brief commercial. Not to mention the thought that must have went in to creating all those options! This is great!

Thank you! So glad you liked it!

We really like the mourn the lost downtime project. -Psiocratic Press

I liked how the event die scales with the size of your party, that's really inventive. I enjoyed the revelry and hunting downtime activities. -Jacob

I can really see myself using the mourn the lost downtime at the table, even though normally I'm not a big fan of this style of downtime activity. -Will

Thanks for taking the time! I wasn't sure about mourning but it ended up being one of my favourites.

From one seasonal submitter to another, an excellent entry! I think the project events for each downtime activity are fantastic! My only complaint is the Revelry table using dice not otherwise featured in Draw Steel (d4s, d8s, d12s).

Thank you! Definitely felt a bit cheeky to include those polyhedral dice, but I figured anyone who doesn't have a full set of math rocks can use a digital dice roller given how infrequently they'll need to roll on that table!

The subtle colouring for each really works for me. Along with this think they are great downtime activities. I particularly like Tend a Garden and Go Hunting. I'd personally rework Mourning. Kind of makes Winter feel bad? Maybe have it as a wider remembrance, good and bad, like a New Years Celebration.

Just my two cents. I'll be adding these into my game regardless.

Developer

Thanks! Glad you like the colours; I didn't have much time or space for layout so I wanted a simple way to keep it pretty and readable.  Winter as a time for remembrance more broadly definitely would have still worked thematically!

Four very solid additions to the downtime projects that seem to mesh well with the official ones.
One question: Is the Hunter's Skill reward intended to be permanent? A quick note that you can't receive this reward twice for the same skill may be needed.

Developer

Good catch, I think Hunter's Skill is intended to be limited term like Hunter's Instincts - you can get these benefits permanently for a similar amount of project points in the core book, but not on a project with recurring rolls.

It's really nice to have new downtime activities, and the four you propose are good. Here's some feeback:

  • I don't like the d10 events on the gardening project every time you do it. Extremes might happen where you never get an event or you get one every time, which might be really tiresome
  • On revelry: I think players should be able to use other characteristics than Presence (Intuition and Reason at least). Using wealth as a bonus is super smart. Gaining a free follower seems really really strong. The title is super cool!

All in all it's a pretty solid entry, with some cool events and benefits that really convey the theme of each activity.

Developer

Thank you! Could definitely have alternative characteristics for revelry yeah. With gardening, while you're working on the project events work the same as for any project, so only roll on the table when the director determines it's appropriate. The d10 chance to trigger one is just for when you later take a respite activity to spend time in the garden. Generally, I wouldn't expect such an activity to have events, so I put a fairly small chance to trigger them to represent how spending time in your garden also involves you still doing a little gardening.

Submitted

Oh, I think I misread the d10 chance being only when you spend a respite activity there, I thought it was when you were working on the project. It makes way more sense this way

The hunting downtime project is one my players have specifically requested. Great job!

Developer

Great! I hope your table is able to get some use from it!
