To keep things fair for all participants, submissions that don’t follow the theme or don’t include any horror elements may need to be disqualified. We truly don’t mean this in a harsh way. It’s just a common issue in game jams, and we want everyone to have an equal chance when voting begins. Rules Below:

  • Theme Adherence: Your game must fit the announced theme and the overall genre of the jam (Horror, Gothic, Dark Fiction, etc.).
  • Format: The game must be primarily a visual novel, interactive fiction, or heavily text-driven narrative game. Mixing genres (e.g., VN + Point-and-Click, VN + Survival) is completely fine and encouraged!
  • Fresh Starts: To keep things fair, the core narrative, script, and code must be created during the jam period.

FAQ Upon AI Generation:

1.) Please ensure it is clearly stated that AI tools are featured inside your game please.

2.) I kindly ask that vibe coding or similar low‑effort AI‑generated submissions are not used excessively or spammed during the event.

3.) AI should be used as a tool to assist you, not to fully create your art, sprites, characters, or story. I strongly encourage everyone to rely on your own creativity and personal ideas rather than letting AI do the core creative work.
