Very cute! I really like the designs you have for both the characters and I enjoyed the dialogue.
I'm glad you enjoyed it; thank you for playing!
The dialogue and graphics look really promising! I especially enjoyed the dialogue about the demo ending, that was a fun touch! :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it; thank you for playing!
Wow, I was so intrigued at the start. And then came the ending... Honestly, even as it stands, the story feels complete to me. The breaking of the fourth wall fits the game really well.
I really liked the way the text slides, the fact that the box color indicates the speaker, and the character portraits too.
Great work
I do sincerely hope to be able to finish what I started... perhaps it could be a Christmas present? 🤔. I had considered shoehorning more information into the demo, but I think that would've only raised more unanswered questions.
I'm glad you liked the decoy ending! Despite not being strictly "canon," it ended up containing the basic thematic essence of the intended story.
Thank you for playing!
Good start. Hopefully some good learnings for your next project
I'm glad to hear that it functioned. These lessons will certainly help me in this year's GBJAM!
Thank you for playing!
It's unfortunate you were unable to make more of this game, but the base feel's really solid. It's incredible how detailed the art is despite the limited color palette, and the sounds are pretty neat. I believe this game could be pretty good, if you finish it.
I'm glad to hear that it functioned correctly. Thank you for playing!
Do I need to say anything? Like... First I was: "Wow this looks like a gem! How did they manage to finish the game with cutscenes and such quality in like a week?!" and then I get hit by a truck named "the game ends". Currently, it's not even a game, or not even a novel, there's no gameplay outside of starting button smash, and for the novel there is no story. Which is awkward. I feel it has a lot of potential, but for the JAM it's definitly not something I can see winning, considering we don't even know what gameplay there will be. It looks interesting but... yeah...
I think you tried to bite off more than you can chew.
You are correct! I knew going into this jam that I would not be able to satisfy "completeness" for many reasons, so I decided to polish a small segment instead. I have made my peace with not winning 🙏.
I'm glad to hear that it functioned correctly, and I'm happy that you enjoyed what was there. Thank you for playing!
