A great idea to expand Blackjack like this!

Developer

Glad you liked the idea!

I loved the reinterpretation of blackjack with the addition of a gun. Very creative and fun!

Thank-you!

Super fun addition to the classic card game! Couldn't stop playing :)

Glad you had fun!

Finally, a game of black jack I can win!
Very clean presentation, lovely pixel art! I liked the cheating element - fits in nicely with the jam's theme.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! May or may have not been inspired by my similar lack of ability to win regular Blackjack.

Very nice and fun game. I really liked playing it. Just one note, maybe can you add a Cancel option when choosing the Fire? By mistake I choose fire 2 or 3 times realizing that I should not and wanted to cancel the option and continue the game but couldn't. Other then that, very cool game. Congrats!

Developer

Thanks for playing, and for the feedback!

That's a good point about being able to cancel the gun. I was trying to stick to a simple 3 key control scheme, but adding another key to allowing cancelling would probably be beneficial.

Its going to sound dumb, but couldn't get the game to start and wondered if it was broken as the main menu doesn't start the game with S/down. Moving to a different scene does let you start.

Developer

It's probably less you being dumb, and more me designing a not entirely intuitive interface. I thought I'd be clever by including the title screen in the scrollable menu, but it may it have been better just to do a standard "Press S to start" style title screen.

Easy to figure out, super fun!

Glad you liked it!

Wow! Crisp, clean, and fun! A perfect design for the limitations. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thank-you!

I did struggle a little with the limitations when it came to fitting all the relevant information on the screen. It's still not perfect since a large number of cards can overlap with the UI... But usually you bust before that happens!

Well-executed game. Everything just works, gives feedback and is easily understandable. I have nothing to criticize.

Developer

Wow, that's high praise. Thanks!

This game is actually surprisingly fun and unsurprisingly addicting

Developer

Thanks for the kind words!

No problem! I would love to see you work on this more in the future - i really like the concept

DUDE. This one is a TON of fun. I didn't know you could shoot the OTHER PERSONS card until halfway in and that took it from  a pretty good twist on blackjack to a great concept. Great use of luck manipulation!

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it!

In hindsight, scrolling past the edge of your cards to reach the enemy's cards might not be the most intuitive control scheme... But yeah, I deliberately made the enemy behaviour very predictable so you know how to most effectively screw up their hand.
