This is cool.

Thanks!

Definitely feels authentic. The into scene was cool but I wish I could have sped it along a bit. I couldn't really tell when I should be chomping versus blowing people up from afar. Should I just be wracking up as much flesh as possible?

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Yeah it does drag a little I'll admit, but I also had a streamer complaining about how he couldn't read it in time before lmao.

There's a little bit of risk vs reward in regards to the chomping vs shooting, you can either safely shoot from a distance and miss out on valuable flesh to upgrade your stats, or get in close and chomp away for more flesh.

You didn't hear it from me, but in the full game there may be something special waiting for players who choose to only chomp or only shoot...

Makes sense! Best of luck with the full release! :D

Quite fun. Do I also spot sprite flickering and lag when there's too many sprites? Faithful to a fault.

Something about the events seem weird. I got a leak and it showed to press A, so I did but there was no feedback. I spammed it and eventually the leak closed, then opened again, I kept pressing A some more but I got game over. There needs to be some kind of feedback as to whats happening. Some sound and visual feedback that pressing A actually does something.

Developer

Thanks for playing! It's a GBC game capable of running on the real hardware, so it does come with the inherent drawbacks of being on the GBC lol.

You're not the first to be thrown off by the events, I'll be touching those up for sure to make the objective a bit clearer.

A neat premise, though the UI/menus kinda confused me, specially between levels.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I will admit some things could be clearer!

Nice charming game. I had to refer to the description to figure out what the buttons were but everything worked well.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I did add a tutorial in-game but it goes by a bit fast and players who select "Skip Intro" will miss it. Perhaps I need to clarify that the intro scene you see on boot is different than the skippable intro when you start the game lol.

Intro was Absolute Cinema. Doc Tuah? Remain clam?

Thanks for playing!

Gamepad controls felt pretty good, Not sure about the upgrade system, doesn't really feel that intuitive at no point did I understand what or how my ship got upgraded, only that I had spent the resources for it. music is great.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah the mechanics are a bit weird, I should probably make a manual so people know what they're getting into.

Very impressive presentation.

I had a hard time getting the controls to work unfortunately, the keyboard mapping I did not understand and my gamepad… well, huge surprise first of all that the gamepad works out of the box, that’s good I guess. But for some reason (probably more the OS than you’re game) it seemed a bit bugged; and I tried pressing SELECT with 10 food but nothing really happened :/

Anyways, really cool project

Thanks for giving it a try! There are some points (at the end of the level chunks) where the LOOT icon will turn pink and disable the select button, there is absolutely nothing documenting this soooo... my bad dawg
