Pretty good tutorial, but it's very easy to skip forward without reading what's written. I played tutorial 2 times because something I was doing caused tutorial to progress, while I wasn't done with reading the text.

Some bullets are hard to see on some backgrounds. For example at 8:44 the background is very bright, in shades of yellows and greens, same as enemy bullets. On some spots bullets almost disappear. Maybe each alien type could have a list of backgrounds that work well with their color to not change them?

Lack of clear info at the start. First I get to pick a country (where each has a different bonus) and then select one of the planes, which are also grouped by country. Do they also have country bonus?

There should be info about stats of the planes. It's obvious each has different speed and guns, but do they also have different hp and ramming damage?

I didn't feel compelled to use rockets or bombs. I got used to machine guns and decided to just stick with them.

Enemy numbers and patterns are mostly ok, but 2 times I got so swarmed with blue aliens I feel like it's impossible to kill them and dodge all the bullets.

That boss fight was pretty good, I liked it.

Honestly doesn’t even seem like a terrible game idea. I was a bit disappointed to be playing only AGAINST the Aliens.

Played on keyboard. Fun little shmup, and holy hell I was not expecting the sheer wall of enemies right after the tutorial.

I enjoyed that the tutorial did force you to use the button for the thing being described. As someone else mentioned, it's a bit awkward on keyboard, with having to use Q/E/R/F/G in addition to WASD. I actually had more fun using a plane that only had a primary MG just so I could focus on movement/yaw + fire.

I'd like the yaw tilting to be snappier, but I get if the point is to not have that level of responsiveness.

The menus and UI outside of the gameplay are not very good. It's functional, but on my screen I could not read most of the text, and there's a lot of cart before the horse stuff. Plane customization is cool, but unless it has a gameplay effect, it shouldn't come up before every sortie. If it has a gameplay effect, that was also not communicated.

All that said, the actual gameplay is really good and solid. No notes there.

played on a keyboard

  • default controls feel a little awkward, right click didnt change the way that YAW control worked for me
  • dodging bullets is fun
  • the ship is reaaaallly massive compared to your hitbox, feels a little difficult to tell where your hitbox is
  • I'm really not a fan of the cloud mechanic, you cant see ships or bullets and sometimes they take up most of the screen. Also, there are clouds in the background too that dont effect gameplay, which is visually confusing
  • i feel like you dont get very many credits, 1 per kill means i would have to play for a while with one of the starter planes before being able to upgrade at all.
  • i like the effects on shooting enemy ships
  • its cool how many planes there are
  • i didnt understand the hanger loadout menu at all

its a functional shmup as a start, keep up the good work!

Thank you for playing!

Right that's obvious that I forgot to explain the upgrade hangar screen now that you mention it. the idea is that you get 2 offensive and 2 defensive upgrades plus 2 special upgrades. but I'm still not sure if I even like how it is at the moment.

the hit box is also the cockpit.
